Prakeikimas ist das zweite Album von Dissimulation aus Litauen, deren Gründungsdatum im Jahre 1993 liegt. Obwohl Dissimulation es in dieser Zeit nur auf insgesamt vier Veröffentlichungen gebracht haben, hört man recht schnell die Erfahrung und auch Professionalität der Musiker heraus.
Das erste Lied wird von der klassischen Filmmusik der Dokumentation „Trinity And Beyond (The Atomic Bomb Movie) eingeleitet. Danach geht es dann sofort zugig zur Sache: Die Führungsgitarre gibt eine – für mich folkloristisch klingende – Melodie zum Besten bevor Dissimulation beginnen schnell und brutal loszubrechen. Das litauische Trio arbeitet auf Prakeikimas viel mit verschiedenen Geschwindigkeiten und Takten, auch innerhalb einzelner Lieder sind häufig Richtungswechsel zu hören. Das Spektrum reicht von schnell und brachial über stampfend thrashig bis hin zu komplexeren und spielerischen Passagen. Durch diese Vielschichtigkeit, die technisch stets makellos umgesetzt wurde, ist Prakeikimas insgesamt ein sehr abwechslungsreiches Album.
Es gibt sehr thrashige Stücke die schön gitarrenbetont und antreibend sind. Mir fehlt allerdings ein wenig eine Gleichmäßigkeit und Eingängigkeit. Dass Dissimulation eingängig und mitreißend spielen können, beweisen sie vorbildlich Omega et alpha und Kol viskas niekur. Insgesamt betrachet ist dieser Spielfluss etwas zu oft von Rhythmusänderungen durchbrochen.
Trotz dieses Überangebots an Abwechslung ist Prakeikimas ein interessantes Werk, welches vor allem mit den schnellen, brachialen und thrashigen Elementen überzeugen kann. Würdigend muss dazu erwähnt werden, dass dies auch an der sehr gelungenen und guten Produktion liegt, die einen sehr differenzierten, sauberen und druckvollen Klang hat.
Prakeikimas ist gerade auf CD erschienen, eine Vinylversion soll in einen Wochen folgen.

Prakeikimas is the second record of Lithuanian Dissimulation which had their setting-up in 1993. Though Dissimulation just publish four publications during the last years you get it quickly waht high leveled experience and professionality those musicians having. First track is initiated with classic film music of " Trinity and Beyond (The Atomic Bomb Movie)" documentation. Following they get to the point draughty. The lead guitar plays a folkloristic curious appearing melody until Dissimultation starts bursting out fast and brutal. The Lithuanian trio work with lots of different speed and beats on Prakeikimas even within single songs changes in direction are listenable. Spectrum extends from fast and brute over stamping thrashy to complex and playful passages. This variety, realized always unblemished technically, make Prakeikimas a very eventful record.
It has very thrashy tracks being emphasized on guitars and drived. What I miss a little bit is some consistency and catching. So Dissimulation can play easy to grasp and electrifying they show ideally on Omega et Alpha and Kol Viskas Niekur. But altogether the playing fluent is interupted too much by rhythm changes.
In spite of this oversupply of changes Prakeikimas is still an interesting record convincing with fast, brute and thrashy elements. Mentioning lauded it´s this well and perfect succeeded production having a very distinguished, clear and pressurizeful sound. Prakeikimas is promoted on compact disc, a vinyl version is expected in some weeks.

The guys from Lithuania return with their second album and once again the music can be described as old school black metal with some keyboards in it. Compared to the previous album it has a more thrashy feeling and the songs are a little bit closer to thrash metal now, but they still have the same haunting atmosphere their debut had and this is something I like. There's an ominous feeling to the songs and despite the fact that they are singing in their native language this doesn't alienate the fans. After all the English translation is there for anyone who wants to check the lyrics. Once again they have released a good album, but this is not the album that will help them do that extra step. I think the one thing that really needs improvement is the production. A better production will help them leave behind the underground tag and move onwards to a higher level. A good album for fans of thrashing black metal. [7 / 10]

Återigen har det kommit metal från Lettland tidigare kom Obtest nya och imponerade på mig, frågan är ju ifall Dissimulation kan klara av den bedriften också. Det första spåret heter "Aš Jūsų Prakeikimas" vilket en vanlig svensk som jag inte har en blekaste aning vad det betyder. Från början så spelas ett intro från filmen "Trinity And Beyond" som verkligen förstärker stämningen till max.
Musikaliskt vis så skiljer sig Obtest och Dissimulation åt på nästan alla punkter, t.ex. så använder sig sångaren av growling och riffen är mycket mer lagd åt Metallica på den hos Dissimulation.
Just riffen är inte svåra att spåra tillbaka till olika 80-tals Thrash Metal akter, även trummorna påminner väldigt många gånger om just den Amerikanska genren.
Några refränger är svåra för mig att upptäcka men det finns många verser som jag tycker är extremt bra och på något vis catchiga. Venomous låter väldigt lik de finska trollen Wilska och Kattla, även musiken påminner om ibland om Finntroll då det ibland bjuds på svängiga och gungiga riff med klockrena trummor till. Låter som ett kanon album eller hur?
Men tyvärr är inte skivan mer än ett bra album då jag inte finner låtmaterialet speciellt bra, det finns många bra riff, grymt bra trummarbete och en bra sångare men var är det som gör att musiken står ut? Låtarna är för mig lite för långa och det är lite för mycket av de långa effekterna som är placerade mot sluten av låtarna och effekterna sänker både energin och tempot.
Till nästa gång vill jag att de fortsätter som de gjort med riffen, trummorna och sången men att de ska försöka introducera mer slagkraftiga texter då sångaren inte får ut sin fulla potential. Och min kärlek till slagkraftiga Black, Thrash Metal refränger går inte heller att förneka så gärna lite sådana också.
Denna skiva vill jag rekommendera för de som gillar 80-tals Thrash från staterna blandat med Finntroll sång och gung. Bästa låtarna: "Aš Jūsų Prakeikimas", "Suteikim Jiems Kančią " och " Jų Septynetas". Går att köpa på Ledo Takas Records hemsida. [6,5 / 10]

Un epico tema sulla falsariga delle colonne sonore da film fantasy americano ci conduce verso la seconda fatica (almeno per quanto mi riguarda) dell'etichetta baltica Ledo Takas. Dopo l'incredibile exploit con i Loits sarebbe stato davvero deludente presentare una band non all'altezza... e invece i lituani Dissimulation, pur non raggiungendo le quote del gruppo estone, si sanno difendere benissimo con il loro black metal venato di thrash. O almeno, i primi secondi dell'opener mi aveva portato a fare questo ragionamento. Ma gi? nel seguito affiorano le vere proporzioni tra le due anime dell'ensemble, presentando una schiacciante componente thrash moderna che viene sporadicamente accompagnata da quello che viene definito black'n'roll per la sua attitudine forte e ricca di groove. Come nel caso dei Loits, i Dissimulation mostrano gi? una grande padronanza degli strumenti e allo stesso tempo di essere in grado di condurre un songwriting dinamico ed intrigante. Tutti i pezzi di "Prakeikimas" sono ben congegnati per tenere elevato il livello di attenzione dell'ascoltatore, grazie a ritmiche graffianti e alla ruvida prestazione vocale in screaming del bravo cantante. In finale la band lituana prova a cimentarsi con qualche minuto pi? atmosferico, ma ? un tentativo che non aggiunge pi? di tanto alla prova complessiva. In conclusione possiamo dire che l'area baltica in ambito estremo promette davvero molto... se riuscir? a formarsi una scena intorno a quest'etichetta, e non solo un gruppo sparuto di artisti, ne sentiremo parlare sempre di pi? in futuro. Die Schwierigkeit, ein Album aufzunehmen, das in sich geschlossen klingt, ist sich nicht zu kopieren. Das gelingt leider immer weniger Bands. Hier schickt sich nun eine Truppe aus Litauen an, genau dies zu vollbringen.
Ein bombastisches Klassik-Intro leitet "As Jusu Prakeikimas" ein. Derbstes Black / Thrash Gewitter wie man es sich nur wünschen kann. Packende Melodien, griffige, treibende Riffs, garniert mit Blastparts. Dazu ein garstiger Black Metal Gesang: herrlich. Der Umstand, dass die Lyrics in der Landessprache gehalten sind, tut dem Hörgenuss keinen Abbruch. Im Gegenteil, die Stücke klingen noch bösartiger durch die raue Sprache. Statt sich an permanentem Geschrammel zu berauschen, setzt das Trio auf abwechslungsreiche Songstrukturen.
Man hat teilweise, gerade bei den langsameren Thrash-Parts, wie in "Suteikim Jiems Kancia", das Gefühl, die 80er haben nie geendet, derart old school-artig musizieren Dissimulation. Zugleich beweisen sie in erwähntem Lied, dass sie auch keine Bedenken haben, rockige Töne anzuschlagen, denn auch in "Kol Viskas Niekur" rockt es phasenweise gewaltig.
Hier und da hätte man eventuell etwas am Sound feilen können. Andererseits werden die Nummern so noch einen Tacken räudiger und heftiger. Soundfetischisten sollten trotzdem vorher ein Ohr riskieren bevor sie einen Blindkauf tätigen.
Allen anderen sei gesagt: kaufen, hören, gut finden. [11 / 13]

Les Litunaniens de Dissimulation m?lent avec grande conviction vieux thrash et black metal. C'est tr?s certainement en écoutant beaucoup Venom et les vieux groupes teutons que Dissimulation s'est forgé sa conviction ultime que rien ne doit jamais au grand jamais changer. Il en découle quelque chose de totalement rigide, absolument aride, archa?que évidemment. Pas de solos de guitares, une voix compl?tement éraillée éructant en idiome local, une ambiance fétide : tous les ingrédients de l'objet talibanesque au possible. Mais, ? condition que l'on se laisse aller ? ne pas faire son snob, ?a marche. On apprécie ce retour viscéral au début des 80's, version méchant gar?on. D'autant que la production est tout bonnement exemplaire (c'est d'ailleurs une constante avec ce label), ni true black, ni moderne, sa rectitude rev?che colle excellemment ? l'ambiance guerri?re et perfide que distillent les 6 morceaux. Pour l'originalité, vous repasserez. Mais pour l'agression décomplexée, en revanche, Dissimulation assure plut?t correctement.

As far as credible underground bands go Dissimulation probably wears the crown. The Lithuanian band has next to no profile outside its home country, but has been bashing heads for twelve years now. The band's new album, Prakeimas or Damnation in English, is a black thrash metal collection of songs designed for simplicity and impact. The sound is a cross between early Annihilator (circa Alice In Hell) and Destruction. The singing is violent, but there are some silly attempts at opera here and there. Similarly, the album is burdened by Classical and sampled minutes which take away from the impact and value of the disc. A song like Karo Ugnys/I Dausas for instance begins with a razor sharp riff and sound, which bears some similarity to Maiden on acid, but ends up with minutes of atmospheric melody. Another oddity, is the space between tracks. The listener is lead to believe that the album is over when several second later the next song kicks in - unusual! Underground evil thrash metal seekers can exercise their search technics by getting hold of this.

Litevsky label Ledo Takas Records nas pravidelne zasobuje novymi tituly, ktere jsou z pravidla hodne zajimave. Tentokrate se podivame na novinkove album „Prakeikimas“ od tamni skupiny DISSIMULATION. Jak uvadi prameny, prave tento spolek je v Litve považovan za jeden z nejvetšich kultu a z toho, co jsem vyčetl, mam pocit, že zastavaji pozici podobnou treba jako u nas TÖRR. Kapela pusobi na scene od roku 1993, pričemž „Prakeikimas“ je teprve druhy dlouhohrajici počin. Určen je však predevšim posluchačum, kteri preferuji old school metal. DISSIMULATION by se absolutne hodili na tuzemsky OPEN HELL fest, kde by jejich hudba dostala asi ty nejvetši grady. Všech šest skladeb se nese v doslova zabijackem, thrash-black metalovem tempu a naznak nejakeho zpomaleni či odpočinku rozhodne nečekejte. Možna prave i to zbesile tempo je povetšinou na ukor napadu a ruku na srdce, priliš jich tu nenalezam. Asi nejvice me zaujal začatek skladby „Aš Jusu Prakeikimas“, kde jsem objevil jakysi lidovy motiv. Pote však všechno odfoukl pravy pobaltsky vichr. Hold thrashovy kvapik je v Litevcich zakorenen hodne hluboko. Samozrejme i ten „černy kov“ je citit. Predevšim vokal predstavuje „vranu“ ve fazi posledniho taženi. Když si k tomu ješte domyslite litevskou lyriku, nezni material „Prakeikimas“ zas až tak uplne tuctove. Objektivne mužu prohlasit, že kdybych nehodnotil cele album, ale nekdo by mi naserviroval z tohoto alba pouze ukazku, byl bych mu ochoten odpovedet, že se mi DISSIMULATION libi. Cele album je však až velkou vzpominkou na devadesata leta minuleho stoleti. Težko k tomu mohu neco vice dodat. Rozhodne si však na sve prijdou všichni fandove starych thrashovych vypalovaček. Otrete si uplakane oči, zanechte sentimentalnich vzpominek a myslete nato, že zde existuji stale kapely, ktere to hrnou ve stylu „thrash the black“. What a great surprise was to find the new release of this Lithuanian cult band in my mailbox! I heard their acclaimed debut “Maras” back in 2002 and since then, I have waited anxious for this brand new work. Musically “Prakeikimas” (“Damnation” translated) is a little more focused in the traditional Thrash Metal sound, but still with their venomous Black Metal trade mark. The album starts with a symphonic, majestic and epic intro (which is the first track intro really) that seems to be taken from an old epic movie… After that comes the storm of thrashing riffs, sometimes pretty melodic but still raw as hell! The guitars sound as sharpened as a razorblade, and plays mutilating melodies mostly at mid to fast tempos, but there are also some mid to slow pounding parts. The voice is fucking evil and ripping with blackish snarls that tend to remind me, in some passages, the vocal work of Gunther Theys (Ancient Rites) especially in their early works. The song's structures are not complex at all but are incredibly catchy and coherent, especially songs like “Karo Ugnys/I Dausas” (the last track), which is the most complex of this album, with some folk/traditional-like melodic parts, instrumental passages and an ambient, solemn outro. This album has a great continuity, all songs are amalgamated by incidental, atmospheric sounds between each one, which gives an interesting tension to this album, all this finalize with the mentioned atmospheric outro of the last song. This band has maintained intact the underground metal feeling, patented by bands such Venom, Celtic Frost, Kreator, Bathory, etc. A cult release from a cult band… What else were you expecting?

Aus Litauen kommen Dissimulation und sie bringen uns "Blasphemous thrashing blackmetal". Prakeikimas heißt ihr mittlerweile 2. Album, dessen Cover ich erst auf den zweiten Blick als ein paar zusammengepferchte tote Ratten identifizieren kann. Was erwartet mich da erst auf akustischer Ebene?
Nun, zu Beginn erstmal ein recht bombastisches Intro, das mir irgendwie bekannt vorkommt...ein Blick auf die CD-Hülle verrät dann auch, daß es nicht von der Band selbst stammt, sondern aus dem Dokumentarfilm "Trinity and Beyond (The Atomic Bomb Movie)". Die dort verwendete Melodie wurde dann auch direkt übernommen und bietet dem Hörer, nach ca. 2 Minuten ein schön thrashig klingendes Gitarrenriff, dazu dröhnender Bass, eine Prise Drums und Blackmetal Gesang, der durch die litauische, rauhe Sprache noch eine Ecke fieser rüberkommt. Wo wir gerade beim Gesang sind, gegen Ende des Tracks gesellt sich zur bereits bekannten Stimme noch ein...nunja...Heulen - ziemlich überflüssig.
Auch beim dritten Track, "Ju septynetas" (klar, oder?), dominiert der thrashige Sound, der stellenweise an Destruction oder gar Hellhammer erinnert, nur selten werden die Gitarren geschrabbelt, um auch dem instrumentalen Blackmetal Part gerecht zu werden, was aber im letzten Stück "Karo ugnys/Į dausas" nachgeholt wird.
Mit 41 Minuten, von denen fast 10 Minuten für In- und Outros abgehen, ist "Prakeikimas" für ein Album relativ kurz geraten. Der Sound ist recht gut gelungen, auch wenn die Drums stellenweise besser hätten untergebracht werden können.
Dissimulation verbinden Thrashmetal mit Blackmetal und bauen stellenweise sogar noch ein paar Rock-Elemente ein. Das ganze klingt erstaunlich gut und Leute, die Oldschool Thrashmetal mögen und dem Blackmetal nicht abgeneigt sind, sollten auf jeden Fall eine Hörprobe wagen. Gute Scheibe. [7 / 10]

I didn't know what to expect when I dropped Dissimulation into my CD player, since it seems many eastern European bands are not what I expect at all. However, the bio says "thrashing black metal," and we definitely have that on this CD! I was very happy to hear this CD, as I am such a huge thrash metal fan, and this is thrash done right. Angular riffs, choppy structures, and decent playing all amount to a great record. The black metal sound is present in the vocals, and some of the drumming, but otherwise, this is a thrash album. Evidently this Lithuanian band has a cult following in their own country, and I can see why. This is great metal! Also, I must add that the introduction is one of the best ever, I love it - big and bombastic, with a lot of ominous feeling. Ledo Takas has scored a hit with this one, and I can't wait to see what the band does next.

Extreme Baltic scene keeps delighting fans of qualitative heavy music. Second album of Lithuanians Dissimulation, Prakeikimas, hasn't shown much differences from their debut Maras: it mostly concerns a stronger thrash element, which now dominates over the black one. To say it rough, they've got a unity of Kreator and Satyricon, yet catchy and not without some interesting lines. Whilst originality is added with the use of native language in lyrics, carefully translated into English in the booklet - for the sake of bringing band's ideas to wider masses of supporters... the number of which, after this album, most naturally will grow! The power of the unholy trinity (drum-bass-guitar) is colossal when used correctly. Dissimulations are doing it right. Playing some sort of thrash metal laced with black metal, heavy and old speed influences, or maybe black metal with thrash-speed and heavy influences. It doesn't really matter.
This is their second album and we are presented with six neck-breaking tracks. Opening with an operatic intro that turns into a groove-laced metal, this album gives out nothing really new. The music itself is very good, the production is a bit 'underground', you may say, which fits the style perfectly. The guitar work is very good and the riffs are both melodic as well thrashy. Drumming is not bad at all, we are presented with some grinds and some ear blasting rage on the drums. The bass is well balanced behind the music, allowing the structure of the riffs withstand the strong drumming. Some albums are so badly balanced that the bass is gone, and the guitar is lost inside the drums rampage. Luckily, this isn't the case in "Prakeikimas".
I am never demanding concerning the vocals actually, though as long they are not too clean, I never have a problem with them, and no complains here either. The angry rasp coming out from Venomous is great.
Despite that, I felt like I've heard this album before, not because I did, but because it's pretty hard to renew something as used as eighties speed metal, even when you lace it with black metal like in this case. Another thing that I didn't like in this album is the break in the flow of the songs; in several albums, you can actually say it's one song from start to an end (and in some, it's really actually only one song...) and that's a good thing, the songs flow from one track to another. "Prakeikimas" gives each song its own short ambient intro and outro as well the sixth and final song has a 4 minutes outro that starts pretty good, but gets tiresome eventually.
All in all, this is not a bad album, and if you're a fan of old Kreator, Destruction and even Venom, check this band out. [7 / 10]

No wreszcie! Wreszcie ten swietny Litewski band powraca z nowym albumem! Minely juz przeszlo dwa lata od czasu wydania debiutu "Maras", ktory w jednym z numerow mojego PANZERFAUST zine otrzymal note 100/100. Nie dziwota zatem, iz tak niecierpliwie oczekiwalem na kolejne uderzenie DISSIMULATION. No i dlatego tez moje oczekiwania wzgledem "Prakeikimas" byly bardzo wysokie. Ciesze sie zatem niezmiernie, iz moge zakomunikowac wam, ze chlopaki nie zawiedli mnie i ponownie nagrali mocny, zabojczy CD! Nie zawiedli mnie, ale jednak nieco zaskoczyli tym nowym materialem, gdyz jest on nieco inny od debiutu. Porownujac oba albumy, to zdecydowanie musze stwierdzic, iz ten nowy zawiera wiecej wplywow old school'owego thrashu, a mniej zimnego, ponurego czystego black metalu w stylu KHOLD, czy CARPATHIAN FOREST. Tak czy siak, black metal nadal jest obecny w muzyce Litwinow i jest jednym z najbardziej istotnych jej elementow skladowych. DISSIMULATION zmiksowal jakos oba wymienione przeze mnie style i na dodatek uczynil to w stosunkowo oryginalny sposob. Bo nawet jesli wiele kapel rowniez para sie graniem muzyki laczacej oba te gatunki metalu i mozna powiedziec, iz pewne riffy z "Prakeikimas" moglyby sie znalezc nawet i na "Black Thrash Attack", to i tak Litwini skomponowali duzo mniej chwytliwe i bardziej skomplikowane tracki. Wszystkie kompozycje z "Prakeikimas" sa stosunkowo dlugie, zwlaszcza jak na ten gatunek, z bardziej skomplikowana i zroznicowana struktura, jak gdziekolwiek indziej, zawierajaca sporo zmian temp i klimatu. A wszystko to osiagnieto dzieki tradycyjnemu metalowemu instrumentarium, co po raz kolejny dowodzi, iz nie potrzeba klawiszy, jesli chce sie wykreowac zabojczy, mroczny klimat. DISSIMULATION trzyma poziom agresora na wysokim poziomie, nie mieknie, upewniajac sie, iz kazdy sluchacz dostanie porzadna dawke muzy do walenia lbem dla. wiadomo kogo. Kazdy kawalek polaczono z introsami, ktore sa chyba jedynymi spokojnymi fragmentami tego albumu. No i wreszcie kolejnym jakze istotnym elementem plyty jest wokal. Wykrzyczany po litewsku dostarcza niespotykanego klimatu i brzmi daleko od typowosci. Tak wiec nie mozna powiedziec o DISSIMULATION, iz jest to kolejny typowy old school'owy band! Owszem, znajdziecie tu jakies znajome riffy, przypominajace czy to KREATOR, czy SLAYER, albo DESTRUCTION, AURA NOIR. Ah, ale kogo to obchodzi. Nie zmienia to faktu, iz "Prakeikimas" to totalnie zabojczy material. I jest wlasciwie tylko jedna rzecz, ktora powstrzymuje mnie on dania temu CD kompletu punktow. Jest to fakt, iz "Maras" podobal mi sie nieco bardziej ha! No i moze czasem wydaje mi sie, jakby poziom szalenstwa i piekla mogl byc tu nieco wiekszy. Ale to chyba czysta iluzja, bo ta plyta jest przeciez niemal perfekcyjna! [9 / 10]

This is the second album of well known black/thrash metal formation, who's origin comes from a small Lithuania town of Anyksciai. Compared to their earlier full-length "Maras" released by the same Lithuanian label "Ledo Takas Records" in 2002, "Prakeikimas" has more influences from thrash metal and more developed conception of the album in general. It doesn't mean that "Maras" somehow is musically less attractive record than "Prakeikimas", it's only my opinion about differences between two albums.
Album starts with a track named "As jusu prakeikimas". The intro of the track is taken from "Trinity And Beyond (The Atomic Bomb Movie)". On my subjective oppinion this is a very suitable intro for creating atmosphere: the melodies of orchestra, voices of choir perfectly fit in here and create the mood for the upcoming damnation. The first riff here is pure thrash metal has catchy melody played by guitar. This riff changes a bit before blast beat. After that three or four riffs are changed till the same blast beat is repeated after which comes a riff with some ghostly chanting vocals upon it. Speaking about vocals in this track and in entire album, I am giving only highest mark for it. In "Prakeikimas" vocals are more varied, than in other Dissimulation records. "Suteikim jiems kancia". Starts as a middle tempo thrash metal type song, then the riffs change a few times from one to other till you are brought up to a blast beat. Frankly speaking the structure of this song is very similar to "As jusu prakeikimas". "Ju septynetas". This track starts with a short (few second) drum beat, which comes right into.....quess what?...of course into thrash metal riff. The most memorable parts for me in this track are is an off-beat drum rhythm in the middle of the song and a short ride on toms accompanied by other stringed instruments guitar and bass."Omega Et Alpha". Probably the most thrash influenced song in all "Prakeikimas", if Venomous's vocals wouldn't be harsh and some killing guitar solo would be added to structure of the song, than one could easilly mistake this song with some thrash metal, not consider it as black metal stuff. "Kol viskas niekur". What can I say about this track, it just reflects the conception of the whole album. Thrash till death!!
"Karo ugnys (I Dausas)". This track concludes the album. It consists of two tracks mixed into one. "Karo ugnys" is taken from "Miglose" Ep and the other track "I dausas" is a new composed part of this mixed song. Musically this track differs a little bit from other songs of "Prakeikimas". The first chords of the song turn the listener straight-out: the same thrash metal energy as in all of the album, but gradually the song is changed, after the driving part of "Karo ugnys", listener is left with instrumental phase of the song, in which some melody is brought to the song...the song ends up with rather long ambient outro. Between all of the tracks there are no silent parts, they are filled with ambient sounds, which on my oppinion moreover sticks the album to maleficent entity.

Dissimulation stammen aus Litauen, einem eher unbekannten Land auf der Metal-Karte. "Prakeikimas" bietet eine gelungene Mischung aus Black Metal und Thrash Metal, die meilenweit in den Achtzigern verwurzelt ist. Mehr old-school als beispielsweise "Suteikim Jiems Kancia" geht schon beinahe nicht mehr. Black Metal-Gekrächze geht Hand in Hand mit thrashigen, knackigen, griffigen Riffs, und dadurch, dass der Gesang in der Muttersprache gehalten ist, verleiht er Dissimulation einen ganz speziellen Anstrich. Immer wieder schleichen sich gelungene Melodien in die Musik ein, und durch die räudige Produktion ist das Endergebnis schön derb und ungeschliffen geworden. Trotzdem sind auch rockige Einflüsse - wie beispielsweise in "Kol Viskas Niekur" - vorhanden, die "Prakeikimas" etwas Abwechslung geben. Einige Parts sind zwar etwas monoton, und warum man den letzten Song mittels einem relativ unspektakulären Outro (ganz im Gegensatz zum pompösen, bombastischen Film-Intro aus "Trinity And Beyond (The Atomic Bomb Movie)") auf zehn Minuten strecken musste, erscheint mir nicht ganz logisch. Abgesehen davon bieten Dissimulation gute, harte Kost und sollten nicht verschmäht werden, speziell nicht von Anhängern der Achtziger Jahre, denn "Prakeikimas" bietet gute alte Schule auf bestem Niveau, versetzt mit einigen frischen Elementen. 2005-ieji metai Lietuvos metalinės scenos padangėje prasidėjo itin optimistiškomis gaidomis. Pradėti skaičiuoti (vos besutelpa ant rankų pirštų) planuojami išleisti nauji albumai džiugina kiekvieną kiek labiau save gerbiantį metalgalvį. Ir štai, jau beveik sudarius planuojamų pirkinių sąrašą, prieš pusantro mėnesio netikėtai, kaip perkūnas iš giedro dangaus, trinktelėjo dar viena žinia: kuo ramiausiai kovo pradžioje Rygos „Phoenix“ studijoje įrašų sesiją baigė Lietuvos thrash/black metalo komanda iš Anykščių – DISSIMULATION. Po vienos iš seniausių ir vis dar grojančių metalo komandų debiutinio albumo „Maras“, išleisto 2002-ųjų pabaigoje, praėjo jau pusantrų metų tylos, kuomet ir koncertinė veikla buvo kiek aprimusi, o kai kas grupę laikė netgi irstančia, todėl žinia apie naująjį albumą pažadino nemenką apetitą ir smalsumą: ką gi gero nuveikė DISSIMULATION per visą šį laiką? Juoba žinant, kad nuo pat pirmojo demo grupės grojimo lygis nepaliaujamai auga ir progresuoja.
Tik paėmus „Prakeikimą“ į rankas, dvelkteli naujovių kvapas. Kažkas ne taip, bet kas? Galiausiai paaiškėja nerimastingos nuotaikos kaltininkas: pasikeitė grupės logotipas, kurį neseniai sukūrė Skol. Logotipas atrodo labiau „standartizuotas“ ir kiek per ryškus viso viršelio nekrotiškame kontekste (pelių lavonėliai, atominės bombos „grybas“ – ech tas Roswa, dvejonių tikrai nepalieka), tačiau išėmus kompaktinę plokštelę nuomonė pasikeičia, nes pastarojoje jis atrodo kaip liete nulietas. Bet užtenka nukreipinėti temą.
Nekantraudamas įdedu kompaktą į pražiodytą alkaną CD grotuvo burną su mintimi: „Šeši gabalai ir keturiasdešimt viena minutė... Įdomu!”. Užkliūnu už „Play“ mygtuko ir iškart užlieja iškilmingas intro, pasiskolintas iš dokumentinio filmo „Trinity And Beyond (The Atomic Bomb Movie)“ garso takelio. Pučiamųjų orkestras ir choras sukuria pakylėtą, bet šiek tiek neramią nuotaiką, kol galiausiai, atkartodama intro motyvus, prasideda kompozicija „Aš jūsų prakeikimas“. „Stovėdamas ant kaukolių kalno / Regiu besiraitančias šlykštynes“ – taip, DISSIMULATION sumaišyti su kažkuo kitu tiesiog neįmanoma. Ausis užlieja daug energingesnis thrash ir kiek mažiau black metalas, bet vis tas pats unikalus skambesys. Pasibaigus kūriniui pasklinda niūrus ir grėsmingas, apokaliptinių nuotaikų persunktas intarpas, kurį žodžiais sunku apibūdinti. Beklausant vaizduotėje nevalingai ima plaukti atominio karo ir kitų žmogaus „didžiųjų išradimų“ nusiaubtos Žemės vaizdas, bekraštė dykuma... Beje, intarpai kartojasi viso kompakto metu. „Suteikim Jiems Kančią“ pliekia dar įnirtingiau ir grėsmingiau bei įkūnija žmogaus beprasmišką gyvenimą: „Tegu visas gyvenimas tampa kančia / Juk tai ir yra kvailių kelias į „dangų“ “. Sekančios kompozicijos, „Jų Septynetas“ ir „Omega Et Alpha“, jau buvo pateiktos internete patiems nekantriausiems klausytojams. Juntama auganti agresija ir neapykanta, veržte veržiasi pirminis blogis ir chaosas. „Kol Viskas Niekur“ šiek tiek pritrūko originalumo – vietomis klausant susidaro įspūdis, kad šiame CD tai kažkur jau girdėjau. Pats kūrinys lėtesnis, o tekstas, kaip ir priklauso, nukreiptas prieš religiją. Paskutinė kompozicija „Karo Ugnis / Į Dausas“ – viena mano favoričių. Ypač ryškios išskirtinės būgnų partijos. Pats kūrinys, kaip ir pavadinimas, tarsi suskyla į dvi dalis, o antroji, „Į Dausas“,- savotiškas outro, muzika iš tikro lydi į dausas... „Prakeikimo“ pabaigą vainikuoja vis tą pačią niūrią ir slogią nuotaiką palaikantis intarpas.
Perklausęs naująjį DISSIMULATION darbą likau daugiau nei patenkintas. Kūrinys vertas visų dėmesio. Lyginant su senesniais kalbumais, „Prakeikime“ grojimo technika šoktelėjo į aukštesnį lygi, viskas atlikta profesionaliai ir nepriekaištingai. Asmeniškai aš pajutau kiek didesnį thrash prieskonį, ir, jei ne Venomous‘o vokalas, ne visais atvejais galėčiau pavadinti black. Bet tai nėra blogai, juoba savitą unikalų stilių DISSIMULATION vyrukai tikrai išlaikė ir pateikė itin patraukliai, vietomis įpindami daugiau melodingumo. Nedvejodamas galiu sakyti, jog energijos, pykčio ir neapykantos prisotintas „Prakeikimas“ pretenduoja į geriausią metų albumą beveik be kovos.

Prisipažinsiu, kad vertinti tautiečių albumus yra nelengva. Viena, iki kūrybos įsikūnijimo kompakte ar vinile su grupėmis gerai susipažįstama koncertuose. Antra, nejauku juos kritikuoti, kai produkcijos tiek mažai. O dabar dar sutapo, kad beveik vienu metu manąjį grotuvą lemta terorizuoti dviems naujiems lietuviškiems produktams iš karto. Galima pradėti juos lyginti, bet tai būtų nevykęs sprendimas. Taigi, imam po vieną…
Artėja tryliktuoju skaičiumi pažymėtas penktadienis, kuomet realiai gims “Prakeikimas”. Ta proga galima prisiminti DISSIMULATION pakilimus ir nuopuolius, bet dabar apie šį pagaliau sulauktą tamsos kūdikį. Vaiduokliškai arba King Daimondiškai mėlyname fone tabaluojanti žiurkė kažkuo primena juodąją magiją, kai pasmerktajam prie gyvenamosios vietos numetamas varnos ar šikšnosparnio lavonas. Atrodo, viršelis gali tapti būsimo metalinių diskų apipavidalintojo kelio pradžia (kad tik tų diskų būtų). Tai koks gi prakeikimas krenta ant mūsų galvų?
Intro iš dešimtmečio senumo filmo nuteikia gana pompastiškai, bet tikriausiai skirtas atitinkamai prakeiksmo atmosferai sukurti. Tikrai, mat po to prasidedanti nuosava kūryba, besivadinanti „Aš jūsų prakeikimas“, yra tarsi intro tęsinys. Iš karto smogia blekiško, pagoniško, tačiau tautiško (ne vien dėl gimtosios kalbos lyrikoje) skambesio jėga, trunkanti ilgiau nei 7 minutes. Netrūksta čia nei įvairovės, nei gana techniškų rifų, o kas svarbiausia – nenuobodu ir iš karto „veža“. Nors yra tam tikrų sąšaukų su OBTEST, čia viskas kur kas dinamiškiau ir įdomiau.
„Suteikim jiems kančią“ veiksmas iki to, kol pasigirsta vokalas, trunka gana ilgai, ir vienas motyvas jau pradeda nusibosti. Bet netrukus jį pakeičia, sakyčiau, net trešovas intarpas, o tada jau Venomous gerklė parodo, ką sugeba. Na, čia bleko ne tiek ir daug, jis netipiškas, todėl vėlgi įdomu klausyti. Ypač dėl tos vėl pasikartojančios trešovos vietos. Maniau, kad tik pirmasis gabalas pereina į antrąjį kažkokiu gūdžiu ūžesiu, pasirodo, šešiaminutinis antrasis su trečiuoju susijęs tokiu pat būdu.
O šis, tituluojamas kaip „Jų septynetas“, pakrauna itin sunkaus svorio ir turi net šiek tiek hardcoriškumo. Beje, viena Nekrofago gitara čia dirba kaip už dvi, o Stabmeldys gerai išmoko mušamųjų maldą. Nagi pasakykit, kodėl man jau dabar stipriai patinka šis albumas, kai jo išklausyta tik pusė? Matyt, gerai trijulė padirbėjo Rygos studijoje. Ilgi kūriniai nespėja pasibaigti, jų net nespėjus įsikirsti, o tas irgi yra gerai. Vėl tas pats gausmas priveda pastarąjį iki 5 minučių, o tada jau mokomės graikų abėcėlės.
Skaitymas prasideda iš kito galo („Omega et Alfa“) ir kažkodėl padvelkia ne tik Bay Area thrasho mokykla, bet ir kitais stiliais. Kaip ten bebūtų, šis kūrinėlis šiek tiek kelia nuobodulį, o vėlyvą metą rašant recenziją – dar ir žiovulį, taigi nelabai džiaugiuosi, kai gaudžiantis tarpas iki „Kol viskas niekur“ trunka apie pora minučių. Matyt, graikiško rašto reikia mokytis kruopščiau, taigi paskaitom lietuviškai.
Tas įmantrus pavadinimas labai primena istoriją „vienas žalias, antras į kairę“. O pats gabalas patraukia staigia tempų kaita ir tomis vietomis, kur gerai girdima ritmo sekcija. Ko gero, „Kol viskas niekur“ ne tik keistai vadinasi, bet yra ir vienas įdomiausių bei apskritai geriausių gabalų prakeikimo epopėjoje.
Ūūūūū, vėl iki penkiaminutės, o tada ir dvigubas „Karo ugnys/Į dausas“. Čia jau tikrai galima dalintis pjedestalą OBTEST ir ANDAJA, užtat dvelkia karo dvasia, liepsnoja laužai ir teka kraujo upės. Bet instrumentinis intarpas labai patrauklus, tiesiog fainas. Kaip gi čia, tai visai ne intarpas, o viso ko pabaiga. Dar nesinorėtų. Lyg išklausęs šio noro, pagarsėjęs gausmas paaukštėja ir tempia sąmonę į kažkokį transą. O gal į dausas. Ten irgi nesinori, taigi stengiuosi garsus sulaikyti smegenų žievėje. Tai jau dvelkia net ambientu. Oho, laiko matuoklis rodo beveik 11 minučių, bet netrukus išspjauna bendrą laiką, 41:08. Čia tai bent finalas. Nepamirškite, kad visa tai sudaro tik 6 kūriniai.
Vietoj epilogo. Arba tu ką nors prakeik, arba pats būsi prakeiktas. Panašus pasirinkimas (TURĖTI ar NETURĖTI) liečia ir šį tuoj tuoj prisistatysiantį DISSIMULATION tvarinį. Iš ką tik išsakytos asmeninės patirties labai rekomenduočiau pirmąjį variantą. Ne kasdien mūsų padangėje, su brolių latvių pagalba, atsiranda tokios kokybės tamsos kūdikiai. Black metal fra Litauen er noget helt nyt for mig, men heldigvis kan man jo engang imellem blive positivt overasket som det er tilfældet her. Hvor jeg havde regnet med et opkog af norske genregiganter med horribel demolyd, er der her fuld fart fremad tæskende black thrash, der mest af alt minder om en slags black version af Sodom mellem Persecution Mania og Agent Orange krydret med en smule af den guddommelige "Expurse Of Sodomy" maxi. Man bliver indledt med et flot klassisk intro der derefter bliver fortsat af guitaren, men bedst bliver det dog når tempoet drosles for at give plads til et fedt, groovende, tungt monster mellemstykke. Trioens sanger, Venomous, har også et dejligt egent organ der giver sangene et fedt tvist, men gør dig ingen forhåbninger om at fatte en dart af hvad der bliver sunget, da man synger i ens modersmål, eller ved du hvad Suteikim Jiems Kancia betyder? Lydmæssigt er det hele i absolut top med klar og trykfuld produktion der aldeles ikke behøver gemme sig bag de store nord-mellem europæiske studier. Så er du træt af at høre den samme røvkedelige Mayhem/Darkthrone kopi efter den anden, så se at få læderet op og pung ud til vores østlige naboer. [8 / 10]

Az albumot nyito "As Jusu Prakeikimas" kezdo riffje nagyon jo, ez lehetett volna az egyik legjobb notajuk, ha a kovetkezo masodpercekben egy egeszen mas temaval ossze nem zavartak volna. Mig az elozo "Maras" lemezert tudtam rajongani, ez az uj egyaltalan nem tetszik, tobbnyire unalmas retro thrash riffekkel felszerelt notakat eroltetik es meg nincs is bennuk az a lendulet, ami jellemezte oket a debut korongnal. Felfoghatatlan szamomra, hogy 3 ev kihagyas utan egy ennyire szurke lemezzel jelentkeztek. Persze egybol fel lehet ismerni a Dissimulation stilusat, ahogy beteszem a CD-t a lejatszoba, sot az eddig is jelenlevo Venom hatas most is tetten erheto, de valahogy nincsenek jo notaik ezen a lemezen. Last year when I reviewed the album "Maras" from the Lithuanian Black/Thrash act Dissimulation, I wasn't impressed too much with their total Kreator worship. It was a good album, but the music was a bit too similar to Kreator in my opinion, which is not a good thing (for me) because I was always more of a Destruction and Sodom fan when it came to German Thrash Metal. On their new album "Prakeikimas", Dissimulation goes even farther into the realm of Kreator, but really I like this a lot better than "Maras". Go figure!
With "Prakeikimas" Dissimulation indeed does sound more like Kreator than ever before, but this time the music is tighter and better executed than the music on "Maras". Not only that, I hear some other Thrash band worshipping this time around because of some Destruction influence and even a slight few Sodom influenced parts as well that I did not hear on the last album. There's even a few American Thrash homage being paid on this album too. All of the musicianship has taken a huge jump forward in quality and the songwriting has improved greatly. The one and only small thing I did not like about "Prakeikimas" is that after every song there are droning ambient outros that seem like they were put there just to make the album's running time longer, but it's not too annoying. The album's intro track is a cool sound sample taken from an atomic bomb documentary movie that has some nice military styled music.
I have no idea what the album's lyrics are about as they are not included with the promo I got, plus everything is in Lithuanian which I can't read anyhow. Venomous, Dissimulation's vocalist has a GREAT vocal style mixing the best aspects of both Thrash and Black Metal vocals. Dissimulation is touted as a Thrash/Black Metal band, but in all honesty I think the vocals on the album are the only thing that give this album any Black Metal feeling at all. I'm not complaining though because though I do love Black Metal, Thrash was, is and always will be my favorite style of Metal.
The production for this album is also much improved compared to "Maras". The bass aspects are bassier and the drums sound amazing. You might see me comment on the drum sound in a lot of my reviews and that is just simply because the drums are my favorite thing when it comes to Metal. Their label Ledo Takas Records produced the album and it seems they must have people there that know what they're doing in terms of producing and mixing because this production is perfect.
The cover art used for the album is a lot more interesting than the art used on "Maras" by a long shot. An artist named Roswa did the artwork and I swear I've seen this person's artwork before somewhere. It seems very familiar. Anyway, they also have redesigned their logo and now it looks a lot better and more professional than their old logo did. Unfortunately this was all that was included with the promo, so I can't comment on what may or may not be included in the lyric booklet or anything else.
I said in my review of "Maras" that I could see Dissimulation becoming a great band if they just tried a little harder. That is exactly what they have done with "Prakeikimas"! While the obvious nods to Kreator still abound, there are some new ideas and sounds they've experimented with and the musicianship has really improved to astonishing levels, so this is why I'm liking this album so much. If you haven't heard Dissimulation, let this album be your first experience of the band's music, especially if you like '80's Thrash and are looking for new music in this almost dead genre. And if you liked their last album, you'll definitely love this one and it would be a wise move on your part to pick it up! [9 / 10]

Dissimulation is a three piece from Lithuania. 'Prakeikimas' (which means damnation) is their second CD. The music on this CD is clearly influenced by thrash metal from the eighties. Fortunately the Lithuanians know how to give it their own sound. I suspect they do this by using their own national musical traditions. The band makes use of a lot of classical influences, which give the music its fairytale-like character. In combination with their sturdy metal, this has a fascinating effect. I am not into present day thrash metal, but I do think Dissimulation have something interesting to offer. In short: if you are into thrash and you are looking for something new: try Dissimulation! Try to listen to this CD several times before judging it, the music demands it. [77 / 100]

Segundo ?lbum de esta buena banda Lituana, otra vez del gran sello Ledo Takas!. Debo decir que esta vez hay algunos cambios comparado con su predecesor Maras, que ya hemos de ir revisando en los p?rrafos venideros.
Tal vez lo m?s obvio sea la mejora en el sonido y producción general de este ?lbum, y que no se confunda mejor producción con pérdida de un sonido agresivo, creo que eso ha quedado intacto en este caso, de hecho esta vez el bajo est? mucho m?s presente gracias a las mejoras en la grabación, y guitarra m?s bater?a suenan un ca?on.
Respecto a su estilo, esta vez suena todo m?s acertado, los temas mucho m?s trabajados que la vez anterior (cosa a la que habr? de ayudar mucho las mejoras del sonido, supongo), pero siempre dentro del Black/Thrash que les caracterizaba. Los temas son m?s extensos, desde los 7 a los 5 minutos, y nos encontramos con m?s cambios de ritmo por tema y algunas melod?as bizarras por ah?. La voz, esta vez va m?s por el lado del Mille que antes con alg?n flirteo a cosas m?s black metal, y al igual que en Maras, es la guitarra la que se lleva la mayor parte del peso y presencia.
Un ?lbum redondo creo yo... a pesar de no contar con solos de guitarra este trabajo se pasa volando, que no aburre por nada ya que hay bastante originalidad, a pesar del estilo tan en boga por estos d?as.

First of all, I'd like to give my deepest apologies to everyone who's involved in Dissimulation for putting this review online so late. Due to my RSI problems I was forced to postpone this one. My excuses.
Dissimulation is a band from Lithuania. Lithuania you say? Isn't that one of the Baltic states? Indeed, but do you know anything about this country except the name of the capital? Well, not me, that's for sure. The band started in 1993 already, combining trash, heavy and black metal into one dark era of making music. And after the debut album ‘Maras' the second one called' Prakeikimas has now been released.
The disk ‘only' contains six songs but has a playtime of 41 minutes. With this, I think any metalfan can have some ideas on what to expect from Dissimulation. All songs are produced very well and contain a lot of variation which is a a very positive thing, espacially for myself. Because of the fact that the instruments are very clear to hear and the sound is ‘full', the vocals, typical black metal that I describe as annoying most of the time and the long structures of the songs that could lead into boring repetative structures, the disk remains interesting all the time with a lot of aspects to explore for.
The songs could all be described in the same way, although I wouldn't qualify them as equal to each other. The biggest influence is trash metal, with a lot of hammering on the lowest guitar strings and an immaginary head banging band. But besides this, I reckon black metal (due to the vocals as previously mentioned) heavy metal, parts of power metal and even punk. Characteristic parts are the parts at the end of the songs, or sometimes placed in the middle, that I would call ‘doom' parts. At first, you think you don't hear a single thing, which lasts for that long, that I for myself started to wonder whether something happened to my cd-player. But when listening close, a creepy silence is noticeable, the ones you'd probably recognize from computer games like ‘Doom' or ‘Resident Evil'.
A negative point of this disk is the fact that the guitar riffs are a little bit too easy. Riffs that go upwards and downwards are followed predictably after each other, combined with the usual ‘as-fast-as-you-can-varied-by-some-high-notes-‘ riffs. This makes the cd not that interesting as it could be, technically speaking. The fact that during the (very long) songs, all these riffs are varied pretty well, the disk doesn't become boring.
Dissimulation sure did a good job, regarding to the fact that it is easy to listen to, despite all the different influences. Yet, the concept that this band has chosen for is a little bit weird and not that convincing as it could be, but a fine exploration for anyone who is seriously interested in something new that is actually produced and finished well. 6 tracks of godly thrash and black metal. This is a wicked combo and unlike anything I have ever heard before. Think bay area thrash mixed in with blazing fast black metal. God the riffs crush on here like old Anthrax at times. The production is on the money too. The vocals are wicked black metal style and this is one of the most original and best cds I have in some time. An incredible slab of pure underground metal.

Eine Band aus Litauen ist in deutschen Landen nun wahrlich nicht häufig anzutreffen. Dissimulation schicken auch darum nur ihre CD aus dem Baltikum. Dass dort eine Metalszene mit talentierten Bands anzutreffen ist, beweisen seit Jahren Skyforger aus dem Nachbarland Lettland. Deren „Semigalls Warchant“-Demokassette steht immer noch in meinem Regal. Der Stil der Band war damals folkloristischer Black Metal. Dissimulation spielen etwas Ähnliches. Sie ergänzen das Ganze um eine schöne Schlagseite Thrash Metal und lassen die Folklore nur kompositorisch, nicht auf Instrumenten beruhend zum Zuge kommen. Die Produktion ist ordentlich, der Stilistik angemessen, nicht zu fett, mit Hall auf der Trommel. Der Bass kommt sehr schön zum Zuge und bereichert den Sound der Band, die ich als Mischung zwischen frühen neunziger Jahre Norwegen Black Metal und Thrash Metal teutonischer Prägung (early Kreator) bezeichnen würde. Wer Aura Noir geniales „Black Thrash Attack“ Album oder die vorherige Mini noch kennt hat einen guten Anhaltspunkt, dazu noch ein wenig Folklore in der Melodieführung und fertig ist ein Album, das weniger durch Komplexität, sondern durch Eingängigkeit zu ergreifen weiß. Bereits der Opener, eingeleitet durch ein herrlich pathetisches Klassikintro, dessen Thema metallisch fortgeführt wird, macht Laune. Es folgt mit ‚Suteikim Jiems Kancia' (zum Glück muss ich es nur schreiben), der nächste Gassenhauer, der ein herrlich thrashiges Grundmuster hat. So geht es insgesamt 38min weiter, einzig die sphärischen, halbminütigen Zwischenspiele hätte man sich schenken können, ansonsten ist ein exotisches Festessen für angeschwärzte Thrasher geboten, dauerhaftes Headbanging versprochen.

Die letzte Veröffentlichung des Labels Ledo Takas Records, Loits, schien mir aufgrund der sehr kontroversen Homepage der Band doch ziemlich im braunen Sumpf beheimatet zu sein, weshalb meine Rezession dazu auch etwas negativer ausfiel. Bei der neusten Veröffentlichung des Labels aus Litauen, Dissimulation, wird auf derartigen geistigen Dünnschiss zum Glück verzichtet. Denn sonst hätte ich eine an für sich gelungene Scheibe erneut zerreissen müssen. Was uns hier Dissimulation vorführen kann sich absolut hören lassen, eine gelungene und teils sogar ergreifende Mischung aus alten Thrash Metal Riffs mit bösartigem Black Metal, wobei sich die Band besonders auf letzteres konzentriert. Die Riffs sind sehr eingängig und finden sofort den Weg zum Ohr, denn Dissimulation setzen verstärkt auf todsichere Nackenriffs, die schon beim ersten Durchgang dafür sorgen, dass man das Haupt passend zur Musik bewegt. Anleihen an Bands wie Satyricon oder auch Khold lassen sich nicht verbergen und so manches Riffs hätte bestimmt auch auf einem Sahnealbum wie "Volcano" Platz gefunden. Abgesehen davon sind die Songs der Jungs wie bei den Norwegern auch durch Überlänge gekennzeichnet, was vielleicht ebenfalls darauf hindeutet, dass Dissimulation beide norwegischen Bands zum Vorbild haben. Die Abwechslung kommt bei "Prakeikimas" (was übersetzt soviel wie Verdammnis bedeutet) nicht zu kurz, hier ist von atmosphärischen Klängen über viele schleppende Passagen bis hin zu wilden Prügeltempos alles vertreten, was möglich ist. Positiv möchte ich auch den hasserfüllten Gesang hervorheben, welcher wirklich optimal zu den Songs passt. Hört mal rein, mir persönlich gefällt "Prakeikimas" doch ziemlich gut und ich hoffe, dass wir bald wieder was von dieser Band hören werden, wobei es sich hier aber auch schon um das zweite Album handelt. Gelungen!

Prakeikimas e il nuovo lavoro dei lituani Dissimulation, stampato dopo tre anni dal debut album Maras dalla connazionale Ledo Takas. Quello che ci troviamo di fronte e un black metal macchiato da venature thrash, che nel loro carattere diretto e sprezzante annullano i pochi residui melodici (l'intro sinfonico potrebbe ingannare) . Cio che emerge, gia ai primi ascolti, e un album aggressivo, carico di adrenalina, sfacciato nel suo procedere marziale e dinamitardo.
Il gruppo sembra puntare sull'impatto della soluzione senza attardarsi in sofisticati intrecci, e grazie ad efficaci cambi di tempo e ad un riffing molto personale l'album risulta piacevole, facilmente apprezzabile, soprattutto per chi e amante di un black selvaggio e immediato, memore della lezione degli anni '80, di quella che seppero lasciare gruppi quali Venom o Bathory.
Non siamo di fronte ad un capolavoro, le canzoni potrebbero maturare ancora, specie nella scorrevolezza. Seppure i brani trasudino energia, talvolta sono un po'monotoni nel tentativo di raggiungere un minutaggio alto che comporta una ripetizione eccessiva di alcuni passaggi. Restano momenti validi, giocati su un ottimo matrimonio fra black e thrash, potenziati dalla produzione, nitida e vigorosa, gia esempio di come il lavoro presentato abbia tutti i connotati di un prodotto serio e professionale.
Per chi fosse curioso di scoprire nuove realta, puntando sull'est, i Dissimulation potrebbero esser graditi da chi non ama certe tendenze di quelle terre al folk o al metal pagano (vedi Graveland, Nokturnal Mortum) e preferisse gustare un'opera piu schietta e diretta.
Se i Dissimulation superassero la tendenza alla ripetizione il loro stile potrebbero diventare un ottimo pasto per gli amanti delle miscele nate dalla commistione di piu generi estremi. [6,5 / 10]

Tiens! Un groupe Lituanien, c'est pas banal... Mis a part BARBAROSSA, j'en connais aucun... DISSIMULATION en est rendu a son 3° album et semble bénéficier d'une bonne réputation en Lituanie, tout ce qu'on peut leur souhaiter c'est de conquérir de nouveaux territoires.
La musique de ce groupe oscille entre Thrash Metal et Black Metal... Basique me direz vous. Oui mais non... DISSIMULATION ne se contente pas de réchauffer tout ce qui se fait depuis ces dernieres années, ce groupe insuffle a son Thrash moderne Blackisé sa propre touche personnelle. Peut-etre est-ce du a l'utilisation discrete de synthé et d'intros "Classiques" qui donne a cet album constitué de 6 titres un certain aspect épique, qui sait. L'album s'ouvre sur une intro assez pompeuse mais fort sympathique au demeurant... une ouverture qui ressemble a la BO de "Lawrence d'Arabie". Mais, ce ne sont pas les intros qui nous intéressent mais bien la musique!
DISSIMULATION est un savant mélange entre AJATTARA, des premiers SUIDAKRA le tout saupoudré d'une pincée de RAISE HELL. Du gros Thrash Black en somme! C'est bien fait, et les passages les plus Thrashy font carrément penser a du METALLICA époque "Kill"Em All"! On écoute et on headbang! Ce genre de "riffing" est certes, classique, mais e combien efficace!
La touche d'originalité de DISSIMULATION réside dans ce feeling assez froid qui se développe tout au long de ces 6 titres assez longs (entre 5 et 7 minutes). En fait, je me risquerais meme a dire que le feeling de cet album est comparable a celui qui regne sur le "Sumerian Daemon" de SEPTIC FLESH.
La voix quant a elle est bien agressive, et le chant en Lituanien ("r" roulés, et sonorités de la langue) renforce ce p'tit feeling, un peu comme le chant en Finnois d'AJATTARA qui contribue a son ambiance.
Au finale, "Prakeikimas" (Damnation en Lituanien) est vraiment un bon album qui glisse tout seul!
Pfiou... j'ai réussi a parler de la Lituanie sans balancer de vanne sur Noir Désir... [14 / 20]

Apres une super intro type BO, style L'Empire Contre-Attaque, on découvre vite quel est le credo de ce trio lithuanien, nationalité assez rare sur la scene extreme: un black plutōt thrash et tout ce qu'il y a de plus carré, joué dans les veines de nos seigneurs Venom ou encore Destruction. « Prakeikimas » n'est pas un album des plus intéressants, mais il a tout de meme le mérite de représenter une image assez fidele de ce mélange inspiré des années 80' et d'une rigueur toute moderne. Plutōt maītre dans les riffs barrés totalement headbanging et assez étranger aux blasts, Dissimulation développe une musique tres dynamique, qui ne laisse pas longtemps pour se reposer.
Moins ‘true' et lourd que son dernier «Maras», «Prakeikimas» est un travail essentiellement basé sur des rythmiques, coupures en tout genre, petites accélérations et une ambiance assez proche finalement du «Volcano» de Satyricon. Pas une révolution donc, surtout que l'on peut avoir du mal a discerner un fil directeur a chaque titre. C'est la faiblesse de cet album, qui apporte a la longue un schéma linéaire de composition. Et c'est en cela aussi que cet album est plus thrash que black metal: il lui manque un souffle d'atmosphere noire, plus personnel. Omega Et Alpha va dans ce sens, plus proche de Kreator, le chant moitié hurlé; la moitié extreme de Venomous aidant. Les plans de guitare et la rythmique saccadée se font un peu répétitifs et tout cela manque cruellement de solo. Il n'en faudrait pas beaucoup plus pour donner un relief supplémentaire aux compositions. Kol Viskas Niekur va exactement dans le meme sens que le titre précédent, c'est-a-dire une grande succession de riffs, tous plus carrés les uns que les autres. Cela manque cruellement d'une ambiance. Les passages plus rapides sont forts appréciables et bien exécutés, ciselés au rasoir. On ressent alors une envie soudaine de réécouter le «Damned In Black» d'Immortal. Cela veut bien dire que quelque chose nous y fait penser.
Dans tout cela, il y a de bonnes choses. Karo Ugnys / I Dausas (oui, tout est chanté en lituanien, donc pas la moindre chance de choper ici ou la un mot pour comprendre de quoi il est traité) est un bon titre qui clos agilement l'album avec un touche plus black/dark metal, donc plus teinté d'une atmosphere noire, l'accent paien en plus. De longues parties sont sans vocaux, conférant a la musique une dimension plus tragique. C'est d'ailleurs sur cette mélodie cyclique que se termine «Prakeikimas». Quelque chose me dit qu'ils auraient pu creuser d'avantage cette voie, un peu comme le fait en plus heavy la partie metal du premier titre apres cette intro orchestrale reprise de William T. Stromberg dans son documentaire «The Atomic Bomb Movie». Tres appréciable aussi, le vénéneux Suteikim Jiems Kancia se présente comme une bombe a retardement vu l'efficacité de l'intro et des breaks, inspiré par un Kreator changé en black métalleux.
Le chant de Venomous sur ce titre comme sur les autre ne se veut pas imposant, mais plutōt comme un accompagnement nécessaire a la hargne globale dégagée. Rien de désagréable, donc. De plus, la production Phoenix Studio parvient a soulever l'ensemble dans une sphere de qualité qui ne peut que servir Dissimulation. Bref, si cette production n'est pas une merveille d'originalité, le metal lituanien est rare et celui-ci n'est pas a regretter… [13 / 20]

Dissimulation is a Lithunanian black metal band that incorporates symphonic openings into their epic rhythm filled offerings. Forming in 1993, Dissimulation has gone through many lineup changes which has forced periods of silence from one of Lithuania's darkest acts. Just recently they have finished their new album entitled "Prakeikimas" on Ledo Takas Records.
In all actuality, listening to "Prakeikimas" is a lot like listening to Satyricon's "Volcano". Maniacal vocals at times surrounded by shifting drum and basslines with major emphasis on guitar play. Symphonic openings and drop of a hat breakdowns accompany this musical adventure. Venomous, the lead singer, sounds like Shagrath from Dimmu Borgir with his screaming growls but without the range of one of death metal best vocalists. The guitar play by Nekrofagas is excellent and I even hear a little bit of thrash metal at some of the transitions and choral interruptions. The drums are solid, they flow with the music perfectly but there is more that Stabmeldys could have done to exert more power on the album. I really enjoyed the bass play by Venomous as well on "Prakeikimas". Although this is mostly straight in your face black metal, there are shifty portions and transitions in the music where the bass play really shows his worth.
Overall, I think if you like Satyricon, you'll enjoy this record. They didn't change a whole lot of elements but the breakdowns and transitions are well worth a listen. My favorite track on the album is probably "Ju Septynetas". The brutal intro with the guitar and drums going, then the accompaniment of the bass going into the first verse meshed perfectly. The breakdowns on this song also seem warranted and necessary, not to menton they are played extremely well. For fans of foreign black metal, this band is pretty decent to say the least. Cult Of Blood, Stormbringer heavy zine [Austria]:

Das zweite Album dieses litauischen(!) Trios serviert uns in Sechs Abschnitten feinen Black/Thrash der vor allem Fans von Absu, Disaster, Destruction, Kreator, Venom, Aura Noir, Khold, Kreator oder Carpathian Forest ansprechen sollte… so weit das Infoblatt…
Nach einem kleinem Vorgeplänke (auch Intro genannt) legen die drei – mit putzigen Pseudonymen ausgestatteten – Herren auch gleich Vollgas los; sattes Thrashriffing mit blackig-dreckigem Gesang fräst sich hier durchaus gelungen durch die ersten Minuten dieses in ihrer Landessprache gehaltenen Werkes; das aber – leider - durch eine unnötige „Gesangseinlage“ gegen Ende des ersten Tracks (Min. 5:55 bis 6:15 unbedingt skippen!) Federn lassen muss.
Instrumentaltechnisch ist zumeist alles im grünen Bereich, nebst obskuren Keyboardeinlagen und einer phasenweise mystisch-okkulten Stimmung dominieren aber die Gitarren das Gesamtbild. Vor allem die US-Thrashbands der seligen 80er-Jahre schimmern hier ein ums andere Mal dezent aus den weitläufigen Kompositionen heraus ohne altbacken aus den Boxen zu wimmern. Das verhindert auch schon die für eine Undergroundproduktion sehr ansprechende Produktion die lediglich etwas Biss im Gitarrenbereich vermissen lässt!
Was hingegen an dem schon älteren Scheibchen ebenfalls positiv auffällt ist die schöne optische Komponente, sprich Cover; ebenso sind zu den Originaltexten die englischen Übersetzungen im Booklet dazugefügt worden - Kompliment!
Alles Paletti also? Mitnichten – selbst bei mehrmaligem Hören sind die Höhepunkte rar gesät, ebenfalls sind die einzelnen Tracks oft zu lang bzw. ebendeswegen zu unspektakulär ausgefallen (da werden Riffs oft endlos wiederholt & die Songs mit immer dem selben Keyboardmotiv ausgefadet!) um vollends überzeugen zu können; auch wenn „Prakeikimas“ soetwas wie spröden Charme versprüht (testet mal "Karo Ugnys / I Dausas" an! An diesem Rausschmeisser sollten sich Dissimulation in Zukunft orientieren mMn... ) ist hier noch lange nicht alles Gold was glänzt! [2,5 / 5]

DP peab kohe ütlema, et ei teadnud Dissimulationist peale nime ja selle, mida rada7 ivo sellest arvas, mitte midagi. Nojah, et Leedu bänd, seda ka. Aga sama hästi võiks tegu olla Põlva, Poola või Portugali grupiga – tekstist ei saa niikuinii mitte muhvigi aru, üks möirgamine ja kisa kõik. Ka hädaldav piiksukoor esimese loo refräänis ei tee asja selgemaks, küll aga naljakamaks.
Samas loos on üks eriti hea käik, aga kombinatsioonis sümfoonilise sissejuhatusega meenutab see kõik liigagi palju Massacra kultusplaati "Enjoy the Violence". Edasi läheb plaat sarnases uue vana kooli death/thrash/black -liinis. Sedasorti muusika paadunud fännidele soovitab DP plaati kindlasti, kuid neile, kes tänapäevasemast ekstreemmuusikast midagi vaimukamat ja omapärasemat kui vanade isakeste jäljendamist ootavad, pole albumil palju pakkuda. Viisakas saund ja produktsioon on tänapäeval juba nii tavaline, et sellega suuri laineid ei löö – pigem ootaks karusemat ja ülemöödunud dekaadi nostalgiast nõretavat lähenemist, mida veenvalt kasutab näiteks Must Missa.
Kõige tipuks on plaat, millel küll vaid kuus pala, tüütult pikk. Thrash -bändi lood ei tohiks ületada nelja, äärmisel juhul viie minuti piiri, kuid Dissimuka iga viimane kui lugu jõuab kannatamatuma kuulaja jaoks igavaks minna. Rohkem konkreetsust, mehed! Võimalik, et venitatud müristamine on mõeldud esile kutsuma mingisugust black -transsi – eriti paneb nii arvama viimane, üle kümne minuti (sic!) pikkune topeltlugu –, kuid allakirjutanu meelest see neil ei õnnestu.
Natuke piinlik on panna sõprusrahva esindusbändi püüdlikule plaadile nii kehva numbrit, aga kui muusika ei loksuta, siis ta ei loksuta. Kas teid loksutab, võite ise veenduda, kui heidate kõrva lugudele "Ju Septynetas" ja/või "Omega Et Alpha". Esimese loo nimi on valesti kirjutatud, sest DP klahvstikul ei leidu Leedu keeleomaseid märke. Samal põhjusel pole seekord lisatud ka palade loendit.

Oho, da hat wohl wieder mal jemand sein medizinisches Wörterbuch zu Rate gezogen, als er auf der Suche nach einem Bandnamen war. Für alle nicht Akademiker hier eine kurze Erläuterung zum Thema Dissimulation: Dabei handelt es sich um das bewusste Verschweigen oder Herunterspielen von Krankheiten bzw. deren Symptomen. Dissimulationen treten häufig bei Alkis sowie Drogenfatzken (Achtung: kein medizinischer Begriff) auf. In wie weit diese Beschreibung nun im Zusammenhang mit dieser Band steht kann ich nicht beurteilen und ich werde mich auch davor hüten Vermutungen irgendwelcher Art zu äußern. Überhaupt ist über die Band wenig bekannt. Eine offizielle Homepage ist auf Gedeih und Verderb nicht zu finden, was die Informationsbeschaffung schwierig gestaltet. Aber man würde sich ja nicht Redakteur schimpfen, wenn einen solche Kleinigkeiten aufhalten würden. DISSIMULATION stammen aus dem schönen Litauen und haben sich mit Haut und Haar einer interessanten Mischung aus klassischem Thrash Metal und frostigem Schwarzmetall verschrieben. Und das nicht erst seit gestern, feierte die Band doch unlängst das Jubiläum ihres zehnjährigen Bestehens. Hier haben wir es also keinesfalls mit Anfängern zu tun sondern mit knallharten Undergroundveteranen, die im Übrigen beim selben Label unter Vertrag sind wie die etwas kontroversen LOITS. Die Scheibe beginnt mit einem Bombast strotzendem Intro das zum Song „As Jusu Prakeikimas“ gehört. Nach einer kurzen Phase in der eine etwas folkig angehauchte Melodie vorherrscht, geht's mit einem ordentlichen Knüppelbrett weiter. Der Song ist einfach strukturiert. Das Thrash Riff knallt ohne Ende, wird jedoch jäh durch ein Break an genau der richtigen Stelle unterbrochen und die unverständlichen Lyrics werden in rauchig/kreischender Form durch Sprechgesang vorgetragen. Die Marschrichtung ist damit vorgegeben, also weiter im Text. „Suteikim Jiems Kancia“ kommt mit einem Überschuss an Thrash daher und geht sofort ins Ohr. Erinnerungen an CELTIC FROST und frühe VENOM erscheinen vor dem inneren Auge…ähm Ohr. Der Song endet atmosphärisch und geht nahtlos in das Folgende „Ju Septynetas“ über. Nun übernimmt die Black Metal Seele wieder das Kommando. Schroffe Gitarren, Blastparts unterbrochen von kurzen Pausen die zum Verschnaufen oder jetzt-erst-recht-bangen einladen. Völlig kompromisslos geht „Omega et Alpha“ zu Werke und erinnert stark an SATYRICON. Warum die letzten 90 Sekunden jedoch mit einem Rauschen, das andere vielleicht als Ambiente bezeichnen würden gefüllt ist, ist mir schleierhaft. Selbiges nervt auch wieder zum Ende des nächsten Titels „Kol Viskas Niekur“ sowie bei „Karo ugnys / I Dausas“. Man denkt sich, „hui klingt alles gar nicht so verkehrt, bohr ey und als Letztes noch ein zehn Minuten Track, geil“. Ja, Pustekuchen. Wieder dieses dämliche „atmosphärische“ Dröhnen. Fazit: Hin und wieder gibt es immer wieder Überraschungen. DISSIMULATION sind eine eben solche. Die Songs sind relativ schlicht gehalten, jedoch nie so stark um eintönig zu wirken. Die Balance zwischen Black und Thrash Metal klappt vorzüglich und die feine Prise Folk gibt der ganzen Sache den letzten Schliff. Ergänzung: Ha, von wegen noch nie wat von denen gehört. Hab gerade mal wieder in meinen Ordner mit Coversongs geschaut und siehe da, die Jungs haben „Tormentor“ von KREATOR gecovert und das gar nicht mal schlecht! [4,5 / 6]

Ledo Takas has unleashed more blasphemous black metal from the Eastern block of the world. DISSIMULATION hails from the steppes of Lithuania and plays a mixture of Celtic Frost/Darkthrone power riffing, old school Norwegian black metal that most closely resemble Satyricon, and raging thrash metal. These styles are nothing new in the black metal scene, but the group adds a most-needed freshness and originally to their sound.
The most obvious influence on 'Prakeikimas' comes from Celtic Frost. Just like Frost’s monumental album 'To Mega Therion', 'Prakeikimas' opens with powerful, barbaric orchestrations. 'As Jusu Prakeikimas' sounds as if it were directly lifted from the 'Conan The Barbarian' soundtrack with muscular horn sections and epic choirs. The DISSIMULATION crew assimulates the symphonic rhythms of the intro into blasting black metal. The group bridges speed with groove by breaking down into tumbling breaks that Celtic Frost played so famously, right into full blown Frost power chords. DISSIMULATION could, like other bands have been know to do, show no sense of originally and take a free ride from the back of Celtic Frost, but the group changes the tempo and style enough to remain creative and interesting. Even though the track has changed its appearance time and time again, DISSIMULATION still comes back to the rhythm maintained on the heroic intro.
The second track (listing tracks by name is quite taxing due to being written in Lithuanian) is a trashes with a good amount of intensity. The opening track rolls with a crunchy, gallop fitted just right for banging your head. The music breaks with the drummer lightly tapping his cymbals before heading directly into more kick ass thrash in the vein of old school Metallica. The vocals through out the album are of a mid-range black metal harshness that really brings to mind Satyricon’s front man, Satyr. The non-Celtic Frost, diabolic grooves also recall Satyricon. The string-warping mixed with mid-paced crunch of the third track illustrates the Satyricon influence.
DISSIMULATION changes their approach and tempo enough to make 'Prakeikimas' a good listen. The Celtic Frost influence could easily bring about a comparison to Darkthrone, but the band puts enough original touch on it to only get a slight comparison to the classic Norwegian band. Also, because DISSIMULATION opted for a more polished sound most of Darkthrone’s Celtic Frost days, the power rhythms work much better. All these elements combined with catchy riff writing makes for another good album to add to your list of black metal albums to check out from the Eastern block of Europe. [7,8 / 10]

The second full length from the Lithuanian “Thrashing Blasphemous Black Metallers” is upon us! And if there was ever any doubt in their strive for domination, “Prakeikimas” puts it all to the grave.
I only reviewed their first release on Ledo Takas Productions not too long ago, yet I must note that this previous album (“Maras”) was actually released some years ago (2002). In comparison, “Prakeikimas” is a much more mature album, particularly in the song writing department. The tracks are held together much more tightly with the guitars, which give it a central point to focus around. The band seems to have evolved a little also, their music still shows hints of the bands that have come before Dissimulation and obviously influenced them greatly. These such bands include: Satyricon, Darkthrone, Immortal and Mayhem. However, Dissimulation is leading their own path now.
Then there is the thrashy sound, which is far more prominent on this album, and it is very reminiscent of great bands such as Kreator, Sodom and Destruction. The vocals have also changed slightly into a very old-school thrash sound, they sound almost identical to those of Australia's Gospel of The Horns vox. In fact, now I think of it, the Gospel sound is nearly indistinguishable to that of Dissimulation.
Clocking in just over 40 minutes, “Prakeikimas” (I still don't know what it means!) is a wicked slab of thrashy Black Metal with all the meaty chunks you'd expect to hear from the hybrid sound of old-school thrash meets old-school Black Metal. [6 / 10]

Att det Östeuropeiska blocket är på stark uppgång i musiksammanhang har jag fått erfara den senaste veckan som utöver recensionsobjektet Dissimulation, en thrash metal-orkester från Litauen, har bjudit på progressiv metal från Bulgarien, frejdigt burleskt distlarm från Estland och en utsökt prog-anstruken symfonianrättning med rötter i Ungern. Mest frappant efter att skivorna gått varma i stereon är förstås inte deras respektive ursprung utan den överraskande höga kvalitet de uppvisar. Kanske är det så att vi om några år hellre riktar våra blickar mot öst istället för söder och väst för goda musikaliska utsikter.
Litauiska Dissimulation är en god representant för det nya östgardet även om det trion förevisar på den färska, sexspåriga thrash-attacken Prakeikimas, förefaller aningens instabilt. De inleder väldigt övertygande med ett lågmält orkesterstycke som snart brakar loss i vässade och hårdföra riff med ett släng av det signifikativa adelsmärket för Baltstaterna: smakfulla penseldrag av folkmusik. Ribban ligger därmed högt och även om de under resans gång samlar kraft för att tangera det gamla rekordet i små kraftansträngningar så lyckas de sällan bibehålla intresset som byggts upp; topparna är och förblir allt som oftast korta ryck, om än klart angenäma sådana.
Det är när mystikomvärvda melodier integreras i riffen som alla bitar faller på plats. När de plöjer exploaterade åkrar i förhoppning om god avkastning tappar de fotfäste och faller handlöst ned till de mediokra massorna. Således skulle åtminstone jag finna Dissimulations musik vida mer givande om de lade allt krut på det som gör dem unika. Ska man vara riktigt magsur kan man väl ge sångaren en liten anmärkning också; det skulle inte vara till någons nackdel om han fräste ut orden med lite eftertryck istället för att försynt – jaja, allt är relativt – harkla sig fram genom litauiska stavelser och obegripligheter.
Prakeikimas köper du som först och främst vill avnjuta fullt gångbar thrash metal, men som också vill ha något exotiskt att skryta om för polarna. [6,5 / 10]

Proud kapel, které jsou silne ovlivnené švédskym melodickym death metalem a starym dobrym thrashikem, je opravdu k nezastaveni a jednou z kapek tohoto gejziru je taky litevsky DISSIMULATION. Ti i pres svou relativni exotičnost nejsou na prvni poslech v ničem nijak zvlaš? handicapovani od svych zapadoevropskych kolegu. Hračské vykony na urovni, zvuk standardni. Jedna se zkratka o konkurenceschopnou nahravku. A nikomu ani nevadi, že veškera lyrika je narvana v jejich materštine. Možna je to naopak malinké plus, diky chuti nečeho neotrelého.
DISSIMULATION si zvolil velmi, ale velmi pusobivé intro, které si vypujčili z deset let starého dokumentu o atomové bombe „Trinity And Beyond“. Autorem tohoto pusobivého kusu važné hudby je pan Stromberg a jeho dilo vskutku nahani husi kuži po celém tele. Škoda, že v až tak mocnych a silnych dimenzich nepokračuji i jeho metalovi kolegové, ale na druhou stranu, tady je la?ka nastavena skutečne až priliš vysoko a na odpovidajici metalové besneni bychom si museli pozvat nejakou bestialni špičku a k té zatim DISSIMULATION preci jen neco chybi. Kluci hned po skončeni uvodni exploze startuji v thrashovém tempu melodickou vyhravkou, ktera na intro plynule navazuje a pokračuji docela drtici klepačkou, ktera ale nema nijak dlouhého trvani. I vokal je spiše agresivnejšiho raženi (neco mezi skrehotem a thrashovym revem) a do tvorby litevcu se jiste hodi lip, než kdyby tam mel byt nejaky hluboky chropot. Nervni pasaž, ktera se po chvili zjevi vprostred thrashovych sekaček, mluvi jasnou reči a bude se libit milovnikum šilenosti pachanych takovymi THE HAUNTED. Ale jak už je znat, DISSIMULATION nejsou s tim zarazenim tak snadni a placaji si do své vcelku melodické, ale stale agresivni tvorby, co se jim libi. Včetne uchylnych sboru v prvni skladbe. Po necelé minutce ambientniho odpočinku se mužete tešit na dalši atak našich nekdejšich bratri, ktery se opet realizuje v nejakych sedmi minutach (což je u DISSIMULATION bežny jev:o). A opet hned od začatku thrashova jizda jako remen, občasne okorenena klepanici, jak už to vyžaduji dnešni normy heh. Chvalyhodna je snaha, že preci jen ke své tvorbe kluci pristupuji se snahou vnést do onech klasickych postupu i svoje vlastni napady a postupy. Nekdy se jim to dari vic a nekdy mi?, ale vysledny verdikt bude až na samotnych posluchačich. Osobne bych možna nekdy radeji vzal za vdek, kdyby DISSIMULATION ponekud vic kopli do vrtule a dali své tvorbe silnejši drive. Ne že by album nejak extra nudilo, to ne, ale preci jen tak dlouhé skladby u tohoto stylu... docela naročné soustičko. Ty kratké ambientni vsuvky se stavaji mezi tracky takovou malou tradici a nechaji posluchači chvili oddechu pred dalšim radenim v onom rinčivém duchu heh. To si hošani docela často uživaji i v onech tempove klidnejšich partech a ja zase mužu rict, že je mam daleko radši, když se urvou z retezu a žačnou to valit v onom klasickém thrashovitém tempu. Pohrichu tohoto tempa neni ani vetšina, což je mi docela lito, nebo? nahravka pohrichu s pribyvajicim časem tak trošku ztraci naboj. To je aspon muj poct, ktery nemusi kolidovat s tim vašim.
Pokud mate radi modernejši pojeti thrash metalu, okorenené nejakymi temi vlivy dalšich metalickych stylu a opeprené exotikou, potom by vas nemuselo techto šest delšich valu (pozor – na ploše skoro tri čtvrte hodiny…) urazit a možna to bude dokonce i naopak. V tomto pripade – nic neni nemožné:o). [4 / 6]

Lietuviška scena retokai džiugina leidiniais, juolab – gerais leidiniais. Sulaukti naujojo DISSIMULATION darbo buvo, švelniai tariant, staigmena – kurį laiką sklandė gandai apie grupės baigtį. Gandai paneigti, įrašas padarytas per ketvertą dienų Rygoje, DISSIMULATION dabinasi nauju logotipu ir dar agresyvesniu, nei anksčiau, skambesiu. Jeigu albumu „Maras“ grupė apsibrėžė black/thrash kategorijoje, tai „Prakeikimas“ būtų veikiau „slightly blackened“ thrash, nes būtent seno gero thrash'o mokyklos estetika dominuoja albumo kompozicijose.
Neapykantą deklaruojantys tekstai ir chaotiškos daugiabalsės pynės („Aš jūsų prakeikimas“), laužyti, kintami ir masyvūs ritmai ir stichiškas gitarinis skambesys, pavadinimas ir albumo vizualizacija – viskas neatsiejama. Netgi intro, pasiskolintas iš kompozitoriaus William T. Strombergo partitūros filmui „Trinity and Beyond“, kuriame pasakojama stulbinanti žmonijos neapykantos kraštutinės išraiškos istorija – atominės bombos istorija. Kiekvienas kūrinys baigiamas ambientiniais outro (autorystė – Baltas Šuo), kurių atomazga tampa plėšraus paskutinio kūrinio „Karo ugnys/Į dausas“ meditacinio pobūdžio pabaiga. Svarus vokalo vaidmuo – teatrališkas bekompromisis atžagarumas (spjūvis „Suteikim jiems kančią“ pradžioje) ir aiški artikuliacija kompozicijas individualizuoja.
Pastabi ausis išgirs kokį miksavimo liapsusą, bet bus patenkinta savitu - intensyviu, veržliu ir drauge grubiu – grupės skambesiu. Jeigu norite staigmenos – itin garsiai klausykite „Omega et Alpha“ nuo penktos minutės.
Dėl stilistinės ir idėjinės albumo vienovės jį laikau puikiu ir originaliu darbu, tikriausiai ne tik LT padangėse. Žmonija jau prakeikta, išgelbėti išgirdusieji.

The Lithuanian underground stage is quite unhurried to gratify the listener with good new stuff. It was a surprise to attain the new album of DISSIMULATION, as there were rumors of the band splitting up. The rumors are gainsaid, the recording made in just four days in Riga, DISSIMULATION have spruced up with a new logo and sound more aggressive than ever. The 2002 album “Maras” had placed the band in the category of black/thrash; the recent - “Prakeikimas” (damnation) - reveals their “slightly blackened” thrash sound, as it is namely the esthetics of good old thrash to dominate over the album compositions.
The declarative hatred lyrics and chaotic polyphonic vocal parts (“Aš jūsų prakeikimas”), broken, varied and massive rhythms and elemental guitar sound, the name and visualization of the album – it all makes a unity. Even the intro part, borrowed from the composer William T. Stromberg's soundtrack for the movie “Trinity and Beyond”, that narrates the staggering history of the ultimate incarnation of the human hatred – the history of the A-bomb. All of the pieces are being concluded with ambient outros (by Baltas Šuo), the denouement of whose is a meditative part that finalizes a vulturous last album piece “Karo ugnys/Į Dausas”. Substantial here is the vocal – theatric, straight-out and forward (a spit in the start of “Suteikim jiems kančią”) along with the clear articulation, it individualizes the compositions.
A sharp ear might notice some mixing lapse, but will be satisfied with the way the band sounds – intense, aggressive and rough. If you're the one waiting for a surprise, crank up the recorder from the fifth minute of “Omega et Alpha”.
I find it a first-rate and original performance, hopefully as regarded also outside the Lithuania, as the unity of style and conception. Damned is the humankind, saved are the ones who've heard.
This one is a must.

Ook in de oostbloklanden mag men de Here graag het allerslechtste toewensen en dat bewijzen de heren van Dissimulation uit Litouwen eens te meer. Na een succesvol ontvangen debuut, 'Maras', uit 2002, komt de band nu met de opvolger 'Prakeikimas' wat verdoemenis betekent in het Nederlands. Dissimulation is met deze tweede plaat nog dieper ingegaan op duistere Black/Thrash dan op het debuut. Dat betekent dan weer dat het eigenlijk een Thrash band pur sang is gezien de hakkende agressiviteit en de van-dik-hout-zaagt-men-planken riffs. De Black zit hem zoals vaker dan meer in het stemgeluid en hier en daar een akelig sfeersampletje. Het geheel is lekker rauw en hard, heeft dat typische no-nonsense karakter en een heldere produktie, maar toch dat ongepolijste geluid. Wat kun je je dan nog meer wensen? Ja, misschien iemand die Litouws kan spreken zodat je ook nog enig idee hebt hoe creatief de godslasteringen deze keer zijn. [82 / 100]

Blasphemous blackened thrash metal per questo gruppo lituano giunto al secondo lavoro in studio. Sono passati tre anni dal debutto 'Maras' e in tutto questo tempo i Dissimulation hanno saputo rendere meno confusa e quindi ancora piu efficace la loro proposta ferale. 'Prakeikimas' e un viaggio nell'oscurita delle loro influenze che si rifanno chiaramente ai primi Satyricon, Absu e Destruction. Coloro che amano le visioni apocalittiche che possono scaturire dall'esplorazione degli abissi ameranno alla follia queste canzoni intinte nell'odio e nella disperazione. Altri verranno forse influenzati in senso negativo dall'impossibilita di prendere un attimo fiato e liberarsi da questo peso interiore facilmente paragonabile a un macigno che ci schiaccia durante l'ascolto. In ogni caso una release piu matura della precedente che potrebbe rappresentare una prima svolta in seno alla band.

Lithuanian black metal anyone? Yes, that's exactly what I thought when this promo arrived. However, I had a feeling this would be rather impressive as it's often the ones you least expect that actually make an impression. This is actually their second full length release after “Maras” in 2002 and despite the fact that they have gained cult status in their native country, I hadn't even heard of them before now. I was however rather intrigued by their list of influences ranging from Destruction and Kreator to Absu and Carpathian Forest. Therefore I knew this would be a most absorbing listen.
Upon pressing play I was stunned to be greeted by a highly bombastic intro complete with a somewhat sinister sounding choir. Listening to this I was expecting something more akin to Cradle Of Filth or Dimmu Borgir rather than the blasphemous thrashing black metal that this had been described as. After a couple of minutes though, the orchestra finally gave way to some pummelling thrashy riffs and right away all their influences were clearly detectable. What also struck me instantly was the excellent production which admittedly I had not expected. 'As Jusu Prakeikimas' really an impressive opening to the album with the catchy and rhythmic mid-section being a highlight. If I have one complaint it's towards the end of the track there are some rather high pitched backing vocals which sound more like small creatures being tortured. It's not a major complaint really, it's just they sound a little demented but the song as a whole is a cracking way to start. Following track ‘Suteikim Jiems Kancia' owes more to the thrash influences for the opening part but as the song unfolds the black metal sound takes over before ending on a nice thrashy note. Already I had to ask how this band are not more widely regarded as musically this is highly impressive. The riffs are heavy and catchy, the vocals have a nice evil tone without being overly shrill and as I said, the production quality enhances the sound greatly. I should mention the fact that the lyrics are all in their native tongue although English translations are provided. It doesn't bother me personally but I know there are some who find this off-putting so I thought I'd warn you. There may also only be six tracks but altogether they clock in at just over 40 minutes so it's certainly not as short as the track listing would suggest. Of the remaining tracks ‘Omega Et Alpha' is a standout being quite possibly the most thrashy song on the album. In contrast, the closing effort ‘Karo Ugnys/I Dausas' shows far more black metal qualities throughout and is another of my favourites at least for the first half. It tails off in the middle though and a gentle symphonic outro takes over. This isn't exactly a bad thing but I like an album to go out with a bang rather than fade out at the end. Still, I can't have any complaints as this is actually a fairly impressive piece of work.
So, I guess you could say this album proved me wrong as I certainly didn't expect anything of this quality before hearing it. I certainly hope this brings them some recognition as this three piece are a talented band and this a fine album for sure. If you are a fan of either thrash or black metal then you will most definitely find something here that will appeal to you and I would recommend checking out Dissimulation.

Thrash thrash thrash, riding hard and riding free. From Lithuania (sorry, never been there) comes Dissimulation, a seasoned thrash style black metal band that is a bit controversial for their blasphemous tendencies. The band has released their second effort to date through the label Ledo Takas, known for their release recently of Obtest. Dissimulation is made of Nekrofagas on guitars, Stabmeldys on drums, and Venomous on bass/vocals.
Fans of old thrash leatherneck bands should enjoy this group. Think of bands like Venom and Bathory crossed up with the German and bay area thrash scene of the '80s. At times I can hear that wicked bay area romp laid down by the mighty "Kill 'Em All" era Metallica, combined with the black metal, blasphemous bomb beats of Venom or Darkthrone. The end result is a thrash 'em and weep, killer black album that is both retro and raw.
"Prakeikimas" is highly recommended for the likes of old Kreator, Sodom, Metallica, Venom, and Bathory. Live from the batcave....perhaps.

Det hender at det litauiske plateselskapet Ledo Takas sender skiver til oss, og da vet jeg at det er noen kuriositeter på gang. Denne gangen var det Dissimulation fra nettopp, Litauen, de ville ha våre synspunkter på.
Dissimulation bidrar ikke med noe nytt til dagens scene med den andre skiva si. At de har kultstatus i hjemlandet Litauen har vel lite å si for oss her i Norge. Jeg har ikke hørt debutskiva deres, men låtene denne gangen fremstår som 50% Finntroll og resten en miks av rocka blackmetal og thrash som virkelig ikke fremstår som så fengende.
Omega Et Alpha minner litt om en rocka versjon av det Satyricon driver med per dags dato, og Ju Septynetas minner en del om Carpathian Forest. Ellers er låtmaterialet ganske kjedelig og repeterende med enkelte tempoøkninger. Men for det meste så er det midtempo kjedelig thrash/blackmetal.
Noe som irriterer meg er at mellom hver låt så har de lagt inn lange strekk med det de sikkert tror er stemningsskapende droner som lager skumle drønn. Helt unødvendig!
For å trekke frem noe positivt skal jeg nevne vokalen som for øvrig går på morsmålet. Den er skikkelig grim og god. Sjekk sistesporet som har et merkelig navn som ikke går å skrive med mitt tastatur. Der er vokalen skikkelig grell. Dessverre er dette en låt som starter veldig bra men som dør hen et stykke ut i låten i et kjeeeedelig repeterende gitartema som til slutt bare fades ut for så å la dronene overta igjen.
Prakeikimas betyr visstnok ”forbannelse” på litauisk. Vel...dette var forbanna middelmådig og med store gap mellom høydepunktene. Ikke så mye over det normale å finne her. Et par godkjente riff, noe bra når tempoet øker, men best av alt er vokalen. Ellers ganske kjedelig. Du vet du har bommet når introen er det beste sporet på hele skiva. [3 / 10]

O titulo desse segundo album do Dissimulation esta no idioma da Lituania, pelo menos suponho que sim, porém o som é traduzido pro mais fudido e basico Thrash Metal que todos os Bangers podem compreender tranquilamente! Quem gosta de Venom, Destruction, Kreator, Absu, tem que ouvir o Dissimulation, muitos nao vao entender as letras, mas que todos os fas de Metal na linha dessas monstruosas bandas citadas acima vao gostar do Dissimulation disso eu nao tenho duvida! Os riffs empolgantes a bateria cadenciada o vocal rasgado sao inconfundiveis, o unico defeito desse cd é que tem poucas musicas, apenas seis, mas da pra sacar bem a qualidade desses loucos lituanos!

Oggi ci presenta i Dissimulation, un gruppo niente male. In ostri sono in attivita da un paio d’anni ed hanno gia una bella esperienza alle spalle. “Prakeikimas” e il loro nuovo album. Un album tetro, pesante e brutale. La base del loro sound e il black metal che spogliato di atmosfere mitologiche o “morbid” e sottoposto ad un procedimento di sinergia con il thrash con il risultato di dare alle stampe un album essenziale. Infatti, non aspettatevi orpelli o “specchietti per allodole”… I Dissimulation ci danno sotto per spingerci nei meandri bui e tetri dell’area baltica ove luce non ha asilo o somiglianza d’essere. Non si scherza con i Dissimulation...

Lithuanian blasphemous black metallers DISSIMULATION , have released their second ode to the dark side called Prakeikimas. This time 'round the band has taken a more thrasher approach to the music. Six new tracks dedicated to war, death, destruction, and darkness; essential ingredients to a badass black metal album. The band has now reached "cult" status in its homeland and are causing havoc wherever they go. What truly makes this band more awesome is their use of their own native tongue instead of the usual boring English. Which makes it all the better! If you like Destruction, Carpathian Forest, Aura Noir, and the like, you are really gonna love this.
In 1993, in a small province town in Lithuania, a dark breeze was sweeping across the lands and with it came the horribly grotesque sounds of DISSIMULATION. In fall of 1996, they successfully recorded their first release; a 6 track demo full of blasphemy. In 1997 this demo Juodo Menulio Pasveikinta was released by Dangus Productions. A few years later, and some new ideas they released Miglose, a 7"EP/tape was set loose by Ledo Takas Records and started an even bigger invasion into the Lithuanian lands with darker, bleaker sounds than ever before. Prakeikimas has now been set loose on the masses, yet again creating ripples in the quiet waters of their native lands and causing quite an earthquake in my ears.
Track 1 As Jusu Prakeikimas an intro that puts Dimmu Borgir to shame and makes Cradle Of Filth sound like theme music from a children's horror matinee on Halloween (they sound like that already, but you get the point...). String and horn arrangements blasting their way into your senses with the force of an atomic bomb. Exploding you with dramatic vocals, that makes the Star Wars theme music seem futile. Moving in to bombard you with thunderous guitars continuing the previous melody, speeding into a brutal vocal attack. Thrashing, rhythmic harmonies just begging to be blasted through loudspeakers. Suteikim Jiems Kancia carrying on the thrash movement, the fretwork grows to a deeper level of intensity. I've now moved this disc out of my small stereo and am now blasting this loud enough to piss the neighbors off. As with most (if not all) metal records, this sounds so much better when played through 2500 watts of pure power. Could this be a thrash band under a black metal guise? Yep, there is definitely more thrash in here than your standard black metal record. And by all means, it's for the best. Moving from one grooving attack to the next, each change in every song is meticulous and if I didn't know better-planned to be this way. This is badass! [9 / 10]

This is the second album from Dissimulation, and as the first one pleased me a lot I was wondering what is this one about. The classic epic movies sound tracks listened, Dissimulation come playing the main riffs of the sound tracks then all of a sudden they delivers their Thrash/Black Metal. They changed a bit their style as they drop some of the typical BM riffs, so that their music is more into Black/Thrash field. Indeed, some of their influences looks like Venom (i.e.: "Suteikim Jiems Kancia"), and stuffs like that with up tempo riffs and headbanging part, but with a really modern sound. The vocals are still ripping one, sometimes sounding like Aura Noir, with a little crunch ton if you get my view. The more I listen to Dissimulation the more I feel they're the Lithuanian answer to Aura Noir. They're into the dark side of Thrash/Black music, in which the tunes carry both aggressiveness and gloomy atmosphere. That's a worth release from far far East.

In Deckung, das Baltikum greift an!
Im Baltikum tummeln sich in letzter Zeit immer mehr fähige und außergewöhnliche Metal - Kapellen. Die bekanntesten sind wohl ohne Frage die Letten "Skyforger", aber es gibt noch anderes, z.B. "Obtest". Mit Dissimulation haben wir eine Band aus Litauen vor uns. Nach dem bombastischen und wirklich gut ausgewähltem Intro bricht eine feurige Black / Thrash - Mixtur über uns herein, die am ehesten Assoziationen zu Desaster, Aura Noir oder alten deutschen Black / Thrash - Größen aus den Achtzigern weckt. Natürlich ist das nix Neues, aber die Jungens aus Litauen präsentieren uns die Musik mit einer solchen Frische und Spielfreude, wie es wohl nur die lange unterdrückten Einwohner eines erst kürzlich befreiten Landes können, die langsam die eigene oder auch fremde Kulturformen (wieder)entdecken.
Diesem ganzen Anfang wohnt ein Zauber inne, den man einfach vielen Bands aus dem Baltikum anmerkt, wer z.B. jemals Skyforger live gesehen hat, weiß genau, wovon ich rede.
Und so ist es auch mit dieser Scheibe. Sie macht einfach Freude, ballert ordentlich wo sie soll und regt zum Moshen an.
In Litauen sollen die Herren laut Bandinfo schon Kultstatus besitzen. Kann gut sein, daß das bei diesem "Spirit", mit dem sich die Band präsentiert, auch schon bald anderswo so sein wird.
Fazit: Wer Black / Thrash der alten Schule mag, sollte dieses Album nicht an sich vorbeigehen lassen! Daumen hoch für diese irgendwie sympathische Band! Für alle Anderen ist das natürlich nix. [Innovation - 5 / 15, gesamt - 13 / 15]

Hoje mais do que nunca podemos dizer que o metal esta presente em todos os cantos da terra. E claro que tem alguns paises pioneiros, mas o Dissimulation esta mostrando o seu potencial, como e o caso da Lithuania, pais este que esta revelando grandes bandas, de potencial invejavel. O Dissimulation e uma banda que tem como meta fazer Black Metal, mas com algumas levadas voltadas ao thrash metal. Um nome que vem a mente para descrever o que estou falando e o Desaster . Logo que se ouve a primeira faixa deste album, parece que estamos diante de uma banda folk ou epica pois os 2 primeiros minutos e uma introducao com estas caracteristicas citadas, depois disto, e puro metal “pegado” e empolgante. As musicas contam com muitas bases e cavalgadas pesadas. A bateria alterna momentos rapidos e quebrados, mudando varias vezes de direcionamento. Os vocais de Venomous sao perfeitos para a proposta da banda e o mesmo Venomous tambem e baixista da banda. Ao todo sao 6 musicas de um black metal feito nos moldes da velha escola do genero, pois o Dissimulation tem em sua musica muitas influencias de Venom, Destruction, Bewiched e Desaster . O unico fator negativo e o pouco numero de musicas contidas neste CD, que e o 2? album lancado pelo banda que tambem conta com duas demos uma de 97 chamadas: “Juodo Menulio Pasveikinta” e outra lancada em 2000 com o titulo “Miglose” . Alem destas, conta com um trabalho lancado no ano de 2002 em formato de LP/ CD / chamado “Maras”.

DISSIMULATION haben mit ihrem zweiten Album "Prakeikimas" einen finster-aggressiven Bastard aus Thrash und Black Metal vorgelegt, der in punkto Abwechslungsreichtum und Spielfreude überzeugt. Früher wohl etwas mehr den schwarzen Klängen zugeneigt (was sich noch heute in der blasphemischen Grundhaltung der Band zeigt), klingen DISSIMULATION nun doch in erster Linie thrashig, wobei man sich ziemlich am Old-School-Sound diverser deutscher Klassikerbands orientiert. Altbacken klingt das Ganze dennoch nicht, wofür auch die zeitgemäße klare Produktion sorgt, die die einzelnen Instrumente gut zur Geltung bringt, ohne zu glattgeschliffen zu wirken. Eine eigene Note erhält die Musik von DISSIMULATION vor allem durch den in der Muttersprache der litauischen Band vorgetragenen Gesang – die harsche Intonation in aggressiv krächzender Black-Metal-Manier passt hier hervorragend zum Gesamtbild!
Etwas seltsam finde ich lediglich diverse Ambient-artige Synthieklänge, die zwischen die einzelnen Lieder eingefügt wurden und schließlich auch das gesamte Album in meditativ ruhiger (wenn auch tendenziell düsterer) Stimmung ausklingen lassen. Für sich genommen klingt das ja recht nett, will aber (so finde ich) irgendwie nicht so richtig zu den eigentlichen Liedern (die übrigens komplett ohne Keyboard auskommen) passen. Außer diesen etwas eigenwilligen und eher deplazierten Experimenten gibt es aber an "Prakeikimas" nichts zu bemäkeln, so dass vor allem Thrash-Fans, die nichts gegen schwarzmetallische Einflüsse einzuwenden haben, mit DISSIMULATION gut bedient sind. Experiment - Ted, Les Acteurs De l'Ombre website [France]:

Voici une agréable surprise en provenance du label Ledo Takas Records. Je vais peut etre en surprendre plus d'un (ou paraitre mauvaise langue pour les autres) mais je viens de trouver avec cet album un groupe de Black Metal qui sait manier son art avec un tant soit peu d'originalité… Oui, oui vous avez bien entendu, un groupe de Black Metal original! Mais contrairement a beaucoup de groupes black originaux comme Solefald, Arcturus, Enslaved ou….Astarte (non la je déconne!); les lithuaniens de Dissimulation ne tirent pas leur inspiration du Prog mais plutot du Thrash Metal des familles.
Pas question de synthé ou autres pseudorchestrations ici, nous sommes en plein dans l'efficacité et le dynamisme. Soit, quelques passages ambient sont présents ici et la pour donner un peu de liant entre les titres mais ceux-ci sont avant tout entrainés par une efficacité toute «thrash old school». Vous immaginez un peu le truc ? Du bon black presque paien aux atmospheres parfois lunaires et toujours nucléaires (cf. la photo a l'arriere de la pochette ainsi que l'orchestration en début d'album tiré d'un film documentaire sur la bombe atomique…) mélangé a des passages Thrash old school quasi-Mosh comme savent si bien le faire des groupes comme Anthrax, Overkill ou Nuclear Assault (quand on parlait de la bombe…)…du tout bon je vous dit! Dans les deux premiers titres certains passages nous renvoient directement au milieu des années 80's et aux premiers albums de Nuclear Assault, et je dois dire que cela fait plaisir a entendre…
Dommage que ces relents de thrash ne soient pas encore assez souvent présent au cours de l'album et que les membres restent parfois a tourner un peu trop longtemps autour du meme riff, ce qui fait durer certaines chansons autour de 8 minutes alors qu'elles auraient pu tenir du chef d'?uvre en 5 minutes 30 (tout comme cette phrase qui aurait gagné a etre plus courte).
Malgré ces petites fautes qui passeront certainement inapercu suivant les gouts de chacun nous avons affaire a un bon petit album suffisamment original pour sortir de la masse du marché sursaturé du Black. Attendons le prochain album pour juger de ce potentiel qui est déja bien présent. Aller les gars, continuez dans cette voie vous y etes presque. Ein kleiner Exot hat hier den Weg auf meinen Schreibtisch gefunden. So macht mit "Prakeikimas" eine litauische Combo lautstark auf sich aufmerksam. Der CD-Titel bedeutet "Damnation" (also "Verdammnis") und das ist auch gleich das einzig mir verständliche Wort des ganzen Albums, dank Übersetzung in der Info.
So sind die gesamten Texte in der Heimatsprache des Trios verfasst, aber es dürften sicherlich keine Volksmusik-Texte sein. Ebenso wenig orientiert man sich musikalisch an heimatlicher Musiktradition, sondern viel mehr an der unserigen. So brettern DISSIMULATION doch in ordentlichen Thrash/ Black-Gefilden, die hörbar von deutschen Metal-Pionieren wie DESTRUCTION oder KREATOR beeinflusst und mit einem guten Schuss skandinavischen Black Metals durchsetzt wurden. Dies fällt einem vor allem beim Gesang auf, denn während Nekrofagas ein 80er-Riff nach dem anderen aus dem Ärmel schüttelt, keift sich Venomous sehr norwegisch durchs Gebälk. Am besten zeigen noch "Omega et Alpha", "Ju Septynetas" und "Karo Ugnys/ I Dausas" die Vielseitigkeit der Combo. So geht erstgenannter Song fast klassisch thrashig zu Werke, beim zweiten mischt man gekonnt beide Sparten und das 10Min.-Epos zum Ende des Albums beginnt erst Viking-lastig, geht dann ins klassische Black-Riffing über und endet in einer über 5Min. dauernden atmosphärischen Keys-Passage. Eine solche Vielfältigkeit würde man sich doch von so mancher Knüppel-Kappelle aus den westlichen Ländern wünschen.
Das doch gelungene Werk wurde im heimatlichen Riga (wo auch sonst?) im Phoenix Studio mit einem wirklich amtlichen Sound versehen, so dass dieses Album nicht nur bei Exotensammlern im Regal stehen, sondern ganz allgemein bei Freunden des guten old school-Black/ Thrashs im CD-Player rotieren sollte.

Die Litauer Formation DISSIMULATION veröffentlichte vor einiger Zeit ihr 2. Album „Prakeikimas“, was man in etwa mit Verdammung übersetzen könnte und hofft nun auf breitere Bekanntheit, zu der sie mit Hilfe ihres neuen Labels kommen wollen. Die Musik lässt sich wohl in das Black Metal Lager einordnen, wobei die mächtige Thrash-Kante nicht unter den Tisch gekehrt werden sollte, denn die Einflüsse von Venom, Celtic Frost oder auch Kreator sind wenn nicht vordergründig, dann auf jeden Fall unterschwellig wahrnehmbar. Sicherlich ist Prakeikimas keine Offenbarung. Gerade mit dem 4. Track „Omega Et Alpha“ werde ich nicht so schnell Freunndschaft schließen weil das aneinanderreihen von ganz guten Riffs noch keinen ganz guten Black Metal Song ausmacht. Die Letten sollten ihre Songs in Zukunft ein wenig kompakter und direkter gestalten, denn brauchbare Ideen haben sie zu Hauf, und dass sie gute Songs schreiben können, haben sie mit dem Opener bewiesen. Ao contrario do que se possa inicialmente pensar, faz bem a uma banda estar afastada do habituel eixo Noruega-Suecia-Finlandia-Alemanha-Inglaterra. Apesar de limitar – em muito – o acesso a bons estudios locais e a editoras que apostem na musica apenas pela musica, os paises europeus nao-centrais no que se refere ao metal ja nos deram grandes bandas, casos de Vader [Polonia], Negura Bunget [Romenia] ou Rotting Christ [Grecia]. Nesta critica falamos da Lituania, a beira do Baltico plantada, e da sua mais famosa banda de thrash/black metal: os Dissimulation. Apesar de doze anos de carreira, „Prakeikimas“ e apenas o segundo album de originais do trio, depois da estreia „Maras“ editada em 2002. apesar disso, os Dissimulation atacam os seis longos temas do disco com uma vitalidade e energia caracteristicos de quem tem muita vontade mas poucos meios. A gravacao acaba por ressentir-se dessas condicoes e dos quatro [ ! ] dias de estudio que tiveram que chegar para captar o album, embora o resultado final esteja bem acima de sofrivel. As diferencas do thrash/black metal dos Dissimulation comecam nos riffs – que sao bem mais massivos, longos e autocontemplativos do que os cortantes riffs do thrash metal alemao ou sueco – e terminam nos interludios ambientais, estranhos coros sinfonicos esporadicos e nas letras em lituano que os Dissimulation atiram para dentro da sua musica, com paragem obrigatoria em alguns – deliciosos – apontamentos folk nos riffs de guitarra. O resto e thrash/black metal tocado como uma banda de 12 anos o tocaria – com competencia, composicoes complexas, reviravoltas black metal nos riffs thrash e muito poder de fogo. „Prakeikimas“ acaba por ser uma excelente alternativa para quem gosta de thrash metal, consegue viver bem com vocalizacoes mais blackish e procura algo mais terra-a-terra e original para a sua musica: a ultima coisa de que se pode acusar os Dissimulation e de serem copias das bandas de thrash metal alemas ou suecas. Por otro lado, e preciso alguma cultura underground para engolir um som que pode parecer demasiado „seco“ e os momentos das musicas em que os Dissimulation se deixam entusiasmar por mudancas de tempos, por um riff ou por uma parte que pretendem diferente e que acaba, normalmente, num qualquer exagero desnecessario. The second full length cd of this Lithuanian band is finally available, I like this band a lot, I have their previous stuff [except for the demo], this time they present to us 6 songs of furious yet melodic and catchy thrashing black metal, the music is in the style of bands as Kreator, Desaster, Absu... I think this can be listened for old thrash metal fans and for black metal listeners... this is very thrash with fast black metal parts. A must to have.

Dissimulation and their label would have you believe that their latest offering, Prakeikimas, is a ‘thrashing black metal attack'. I would beg to disagree as this is only in part correct – the album is certainly thrashing but any black metal aspects it contains are very few and far between. It may open with a splendid, sweeping orchestral introduction but as soon as the grinding guitars and whipcrack drums kick in, this Lithuanian trio lead us on a thrash odyssey that only really ever flirts with notions of black metal.
The initial jaunty melodicism of opener ‘As Jusu Prakeikimas' (yes, all song titles seem to be in their native tongue) is somewhat misleading and does not really reflect on the sound of the rest of the album. It is only with the second song ‘Suteikm Jiems Kancia' that Dissimulation start to carve their mark as an incisive thrash act. This tune could easily have been written by Kreator or Coroner in the late eighties and indeed, vocalist Venomous is a dead ringer for the latter's Ron Royce. Riffs come thick and fast, imbued by a suitably cutting guitar sound. Blackthrash so often travels the ‘booze ‘n' mayhem' route with chaotic, low-cost production values and sloppy performances. Dissimulation however choose a more calculated path and the musicianship and complexity of composition on Prakeikimas is generally of a high standard. Final track ‘Karo Ugnys Dausas' for example is a lengthy journey through corridors of precision thrash that gradually fades into an effective ambient outro.
Occasional blasbeats and the odd passage that brings to mind the cold discordance of Thorns, Khold or any of the other Moonfog bands pay lip-service to Dissimulation's black metal tag but ultimately, Prakeikimas is a thrash record through and through. They perhaps sound a little thin in places (more bass in the mix would help and perhaps a little more texture with the guitars) but as an obscure release from an unusual corner of the extreme metal world, you could do a lot worse then check out Prakeikimas.

Ein Vorteil der letztjährigen EU-Erweiterung in Richtung Osten macht sich u.A. dadurch bemerkbar, dass man nicht nur wirtschaftlich sondern auch auf musikalischer Ebene ein ganzes Stück näher zusammengerückt ist und Kenntnis von Bands erhält, deren Existenz einem ansonsten wohl auf ewig verborgen geblieben wäre.
DISSIMULATION sind ein gutes Beispiel für diese These, denn trotz der Veröffentlichung mehrerer Tonträger konnte man bis dato bloss am heimischen Baltikum etwas Aufmerksamkeit erregen, der aktuelle Longplayer PRAKEIKIMAS könnte aber den Bekanntheitsgrad der wilden Horde auch in unseren Breitengraden um ein vielfaches erhöhen.
Die 3 grimmigen Litauer orientieren sich hörbar an der alten Garde und fabrizieren ein Black N´Thrash N´Roll-Gebräu der absoluten Sonderklasse. Da werden Einflüsse von Teutonen-Thrashern wie Sodom oder Destruction genauso wie primitivstes Venom-Gebolze, der räudige Prolo-Charme von Carpathian Forest oder Satyricon-Avantgarde verarbeitet und die Folkelemente bzw. das bombastische Intro erinnern sogar an den legendäre Finntroll-Erstling. Die beiden Urmitglieder VENOMOUS (b, voc) & STABMELDYS (dr) wissen offensichtlich ganz genau, dass durchgehende Ballerei meistens nur ermüdend ist und flechten deshalb neben überraschenden Breaks immer wieder ultraschwer dahinwalzende Groove-Parts und variable Grunz/Keifvocals in ihre überlangen Kompositionen ein.
Zusätzlichen Reiz üben die muttersprachlichen Lyrics und der druckvoll knallende Sound aus, Fans von Retro-Mucke im Bewitched/Deströyer666/Aura Noir-Style sollten bei der nächsten Mailorder-Bestellung unbedingt DISSIMULATION am virtuellen Einkauszettel notieren, es lohnt sich! [5 / 6]

Molto trascinante questa nuova fatica dei lituani Dissimulation, giunti con questo "Prakeikimas" alla seconda fatica su lunga distanza, e che vede la band approfondire il lato thrasheggiante del proprio sound. Nonostante l'intro, che sembra preso da un film epico, possa ingannare, il power trio lituano ci spezza il collo con un album di selvaggio e poderoso thrash\black metal, capace in alcuni frangenti di riportare alla mente anche qualche sonorit? di death metal old school. Pezzi veloci e violenti si alternano ad ottimi midtempo che non perdono un briciolo di pesantezza e potenza, finemente eseguiti dalla band e fortemente influenzati dal thrash teutonico di qualche annetto fa. Credo proprio infatti che coloro i quali amano band storiche quali Celtic Frost, Kreator e Destruction (soprattutto gli ultimi due) e che al tempo non disdegnano qualcosa di pi? violento, apprezzeranno con facilit? questo disco, che dal primo all'ultimo minuto non abbassa mai il tiro, non concede un attimo di pausa. Uno dei punti di forza della band credo sia anche un certo groove che salta fuori qui e li da alcuni riff che sono chiaramente influenzati da melodie folk tipiche della loro nazione. Fortunatamente si tratta giusto di alcuni momenti che aiutano le composizioni a variare leggermente (poco si, ma quanto basta) evitando cos? di rendere il disco troppo monotematico. Attenzione, non cadete nell'errore di accumunare questo album con altre produzioni thrash\black di stampo norvegese, fareste un grosso errore: si pu? dire con certezza che i Dissimulation riescono nell'intento di utilizzare influenze e schemi vecchi di un secolo ma senza per questo essere uguale a qualsivoglia band moderna o a produrre una mera fotocopia di un disco di 15 anni fa. Una band che comunque potrebbe dire molto anche su lidi leggermente meno thrash, basta ascoltare la conclusiva "Karo Ugnys / Dausas" in cui sonorit? differenti (ma sempre in ambito black) si alternano con facilit?, creando ottime atmosfere, ora thrasheggianti, ora folk, ora doomeggianti e "tribali", veramente un ottimo pezzo che lascia spiragli futuri molto interessanti per il trio lituano, che potrebbe alternare le parti pi? classiche a queste pi? ricercate. In ogni caso complimenti alla band lituana e alla Ledo Takas, che con ottimi risultati supporta la scena del proprio paese.
